1. Is it that Stephen Williams will Join his brother at Port as assistant coach and finish his tenure at the SANFL Magpies ?

2. Is it that the PAMFC will become Ports seconds side ?

3. Is it that the Port Adelaide Football club will be playing in their old SANFL prison bar guernsey from next season ?

4. Is it that Port Adelaide will lose its Power moniker and be reinvested with its traditional Magpie logo...for those not awarePort Adelaide were formerly known as "the Magpies" whilst playing in the SANFL up until 1996.in 1997 they joined the AFL australias new National comp that replaced the ill fated and now defunct suburban VFL.

Can anyone shed some more light on the rumour that ...according to Chris Dittmar ( former world squash champion and 5AA & C7 sports reporter), is larger than the news when Port Adelaide were announced to be joining the AFL.

You can forget number four!

Collingwood have held the Magpies name longer than anyone else, but we have always been willing to share our unique branding with lesser interstate football clubs to form an interstate commeradery.

Port Power is not the Port Adelaide Magpies, in the same way Adelaide Crows are not the South Adelaide Panthers, Norwood Redlegs, Sturt Double Blues etc. etc.

The SANFL won't allow number 2. Collingwood won't allow 3 or 4. Therefore, Stephen has got himself an assistant coaching position. Congratulations Stephen!!!

GO THE MAGPIES!!!!!!

I am not sure that Collingwood have any exclusive rights over the Black and White colours and I wonder if the timing of this may have something to do with the time elapsed since Port's entry into the AFL.

This option is a real possibility!

As for Port taking on the Magpie nickname at the AFL level, I don't see this occurring, not because of the protestations from Collingwood but that the AFL won't allow the ambiguity of having 2 teams with the one nickname....

...unless they force Collingwood to change to make way for Port...

:D
