Todays game , coupled with the performances against the swans and the bullies are more important for our club than anything than i have seen in the last 10 years .

Today we did not try and choke or strangle a superior team because that was our only hope , today we went pound for pound with the leagues heavyweight at ther own game ... massive plusses

JON , Cleve , Tambo , Kingy , Schulzy (when he kicks straight). all great . Keep playing them . JON in for Krakouer (looks to the heavens ) thank f... for that Terry ... how good was that . and we saw the results ... keep playing the kids .

Bring Meyer in for Pettifer next week FFS

Been banging on for a while about this but our performances this year have been better than anything i have seen in Ploughs tenure (exception of the collingwood game a couple of years ago )...

it is happening.... patience

JON, very impressive and composed in the backline, don't ****ing frop him, and just wait untill he bulks up a bit more, will be a star

richo out of the forward line and following was another, give the new gen a chance to cement themselves.

lots of positives today. Jon looked composed, Polak was great, Cleve really showed something, Deledio sparked us, tamblings 1st quarter was electric. McGuane had a fascinating duel with hansen, really coming on. Bring in Polo and meyer, drop petts and jackson and then bring in thursfield for a run in about 5-6 weeks.

Well said, we are yet to play.Saints,Cats,Hawks,Roos,Bombers,Lions,Freo,Demons, I will back us in against most of those if we continue to apply pressure and attack the goals.

If we are going to move him out of the forward line then we have no use for him anymore. Should not played up the ground. Agree with the post, no need to rush Thursfield, will love the looks of a defence with him, Polak and McGuane. Def bring in Meyer and Polo. Maybe keep swapping Connors and Edwards so they can get full games at Coburg and also a taste of senior footy.

Forgot to mentioned Jonno's efforts on Judd today, kept him to 20 possies and no goals after he has smashed all other comers so far this year.

retire him then?

didnt think so...

not saying hes not our best Key forward, he is, easily, but for the betterment of our teams future, there should be more of what happened today. He was very good and our forward line looked pretty good too without him

also jake kings tackling and pressure was second to none did edwards look slow to anyone else seemed to be a yard of pace behind.

Left the ground with a great feeling knowing that our young kids were the ones that got us in that position in the last quarter that gave the WCE's a scare. Of all days Schulz had to have a poor kicking day but it shows if given the space he has what it takes to get the job done.

Wallace must persist with this line up and keep playing the kids as they deserve the rewards. Can't say I was too disappointed with any of them some of the older blokes are still going to cause us grief but christ the signs are there that it is coming.

... yep ... forgot to mention Mc Guane ... showed some great signs . Won`t hang him for Hansens heroics

Although we ar 0-5 we are improving. Think back to last year. We lost to the dogs by 120+, this year 30 points. West coast pumped us by 60+ points round 22 last year, this week just 20. Sydney beat us by 110+ last year, 2 weeks ago we were narrow in defeat again by just 10 points. Although we are not winning we are on the improe regardless of ladder position and win loss record. the fact is now we are down on confidence, and is fair to say down on man power. with Brown, Kingsley in that surely would add at least 4 goals between them. It aint that bad and i stronly believe we can knock off the cats next weekat the Dome.
top effort by the boys today, atmosphere for a 27,000crowd was awesome.
Shit umps as well

i know hes a pretty quick, didnt really take note of him today, probably a case of the pace of the game being too much for him. The ball was pretty hot today.

Want to also add that im really enjoying the fact our lads are going a lot harder at the contest then the previous 2 years. Seems we're starting to back ourselves in a bit more instead of this numbers behind rubbish

Off-field positives as well...

Thought dropping polo (although harsh) showed that playing football comes first.

Dropping Krak... the penny may have finally dropped!

Liked the way that Shultz fronted the media in the post match conference... let the team down but was prepared to come forward and say so - good accountability.

Think king should play next week (fwd)... I like edwards but think he needs 4 quarters for coburg... If Gaspar cannot keep Lynch quiet then I can't see any advantage in playing him - he is a liability every time he gets possession... didn't think petts was as bad as everyone says (perhaps we are asking too much of him)... tambling has been rediculously criticised in media - he improves each game he has played since his debut and looks like this will continue... Agree Meyer in next week.

0-5 sucks, never is good.

but aslong as they keep showing signs then our next win will be soon.

I fear that if we keep losing then it may start blowing out our loss margins though and we then start going backwards.

Needing to beat the cats is an understatment but its true.

32 points being our worst loss in 5 games, i cant remember the last time we have been so competitive after losing so many in a row.

I think Edwards looked tired today but he still showed bursts of pace that created some space.

The wheel is starting to turn my friends...... we all can sense it
The wheel is starting to turn

I would leave Cleve and Sarge (Schulz - old hogans heroes joke) up in the forward line with crumbing forwards and let Richo run riot around the ground. The young kids did very well today and this lineup definitely needs to be persisted with. WE are not as bad as everyone thinks we are. Like a few other posters, umpires didnt help. Apparently Sugar had a spray at them in a press conference. Dont blame him

LOL everyone calls him sarge:p

LMAO

Bring in Jack on a Forward flank :thumbsu:

Big Sarge upfront, Cleve CHF, Richo running up the Ground and young Jack roaming the forwardline.

See you later Pettifer :D

Thursty FB, Polak as our roaming backman, McGuane CHB

J.Bowden as a true Back Flanker

my word this team is slowly starting to look impressive

hear hear, its painful not registering a win but the proofs in the ground we have made in 12 months when playing these sides. Make no bones about it, we ran these #%# pretty well to the line. These youngsters will continue to improve, with any luck Meyer may be that HFF we need to fill Brownys big shoes seeing as Pettifer has lost interest. If by seasons end jimmy connors is in that team and making an impact alongside the youngsters today then YES we have made a giant step in 2007

2 things our skill level was terrible the turnovers makes me want to slash my wrists.body size and physical prescence is another. when forced to go one on one we will struggle because of this.wce went 1 on 1 in second q and smashed us. on schulz had a good openening q but went missing for huge chunks of the game there after.
