Have gone through all of our "Votes threads" for the year and tallied up the votes, with the same voting system I used last year.

I add up all the votes in the thread and then the best 5 players get 10-8-6-4-2 points... Unless the player with the most votes is 10 points clear on second best... then it goes 12-8-6-4-2

Example: Round 1 vs Carlton
Jackson 49
Riewoldt - 44
Cotchin - 22
Hislop - 20
Deledio - 17

So there votes become
10- Jackson
8- Riewoldt
6- Cotchin
4- Hislop
2- Deledio

I am adding up the votes of the first 12 rounds now and will put them up tonight.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LEADERBOARD (After Round 11)

1. Deledio- 54
2. Riewoldt- 50
3. Cotchin- 44
4. Tuck- 35
5. Newman- 31
6. Martin- 28
7. Jackson- 18

Funnily enough I was doing a similar thing and I can tell you you've got the round 8 votes wrong. I suspect because you searched for 'votes' and got last year's Hawks game. The thread for round 8 this year was titled 'Vote v Hawks', and the votes (your way) should be:
10 - Cotchin (106)
8 - Deledio (101)
6 - Newman (83)
4 - Jackson (62)
2 - Riewoldt (39)

I would also have round 1 as:
10 - Jackson (54)
8 - Riewoldt (49)
6 - Cotchin (27)
4 - Deledio (22)
2 - Hislop (21)

and round 2 as:
12 - Cotchin (121)
8 - McGuane (73)
6 - Connors (53)
4 - Deledio (27)
2 - Martin (25)

My way, giving votes from 10 all the way through to 1, has it like this:

Lids 91
Jack 74
Cotch 72
Martin 61
Tuck 51
Newman 42.3
Jackson 29.5
Edwards 29
Nason 26.3
Gus 21

as the top 10.

Kaino's way I have it:

Lids 72
Jack 64
Cotch 44
Tuck 34
Martin 33
Newman 26
Jackson 18
Nahas 16
Edwards 12
Nason 11

while on overall votes it's:

Jack 591.5
Lids 548
Cotch 463
Martin 329.5
Tuck 269
Newman 246.5
Jacko 143
Moore 134
Edwards 110
Nason 93.5

It's a little open to interpretation though, as sometimes we give 5 votes, other times 3, while some people just list 3-5 players (I counted one vote each in that case). A couple of times people gave a 10 and I counted it, but not the 10,000's or the 3.14159... etc.

I'm happy to go with Kaino's way if it saves me counting votes ever again. :D

Interesting how in each group there is one player who doesn't appear in the other lists. (Gus, Nahas, Moore).

Also surprised at Newman being behind Tuck (in all the lists). If you asked, who I thought was having a better season I would have said Newman. But Tucky has been good since he came in.

Thanks for fixing that up disco, I only use the top three votes from everyone considering that's the formula most people use. I'll put up the leaderboard tonight and the votes for rounds 9-12... Which I'm sure will see J.R well out on top.

Why dont we just standardise the votes say 321 or 54321, that would be novel.

I think people should be able to give five votes if they see fit, or three if that's all they deem were worthy of votes. This is an idiosyncratic board, I don't see why we should conform. If we have a shocker and I struggle to find good players I only give three votes but if we play well I give five. All votes should count IMO.
