It's not that he can't play key defense, it's that making him responsible for a forward limits his ability to create, and he is the best creator in the squad. He is most effective as the third man up who then has the license to spread and deliver the ball to the wingers.

I think Mundy has the height, poise and creativity to excell in that role. It would also free up A.Pearce to become the KPF we are crying out for.

Agree, and I don't think it's any coincidence our form turnaround last year came when Johnno was injured.

I watched him and Spurr doing kick to kick at training last year, and the difference in execution on both feet was marked. Johnno rarely missed, Spurr was very hit and miss.

Johnno also seems to see the play unfolding and takes good options, something few of our defenders seem to do.

Yep, he has excellent vision and can predict what will happen next. So many times Johnson's delivery has cut a massive hole in the opposition defense. He's the only player in our team who can do that. One of the best in the AFL.
