On description alone and with no name mentioned I would have thought I was getting my first points of 2026 - a stunningly attractive British actress from Doctor Who in the mid-1960s now an octogenarian has passed away at home.

One would assume Anneke Wills, who played hot blonde action girl Polly in this era, but now well into her 80s has been in poor health in recent years and last year spent a substantial time in hospital following complications from falls. However it is Jill Curzon who played the Doctor's niece Louise in the cinema spin-off movie 'Daleks Invasion of Earth' in 1966 who has died aged 87 and leaving me still to get off the mark this year.

Jill Curzon's passing and the deaths of Bernard Cribbins and Ray Brooks in recent years means that actors from the two cinematic Dalek movies of the mid-1960s (with the late Peter Cushing in the role of the Doctor) still living today are now very few. There's Roberta Tovey who played the Doctor's granddaughter Susan in both movies now aged in her mid 70s, and Jennie Linden who played Barbara in the first movie now aged about 90, but I can't name any others.
