Anyone aware of any AFL players that are into metal? The only one I know of is Alex Silvagni.
Don't know of many. A few past and present Richmond players I know of: I have some memory of hearing Jack Reiwoldt was into metal (could be wrong on this) but it was some Richmond player who I wouldn't expect. Arguable if metal, but Richo was a big fan of Alice in Chains, Layne Staley one of his favourite musicians. Shane tuck a fan of Pantera and Tool and plays drums and was still playing in a band recently from memory.

Anyone listen to YOB? Average band name, but I like what I've listened too so far (only started listening to them this morning).

have yob's 'atma' in my collection. there's been an absolute ****load of sludgy/doomy type stuff in the last few years (i haven't followed music as much this year to know if it's continuing) and yob slots in well.

Bloody hell, Roadracer pricekillers. The memories. Got a Possessed - Seven Churches release like that too. Traded it off some bloke "getting out of metal" about 10 years ago for a shitty Hammerfall album. Also traded the same bloke a Blind Guardian album for an original pressing digipak of Troll - Drep de Kristne. I still claim to have won the trade. :D

Well, don't really like those layouts. Have the decent Carnivore in such a version. Why not rerelase releases with decent cover? Really hate it in some cases like Merciless or Ved Buens End. Really want those albums, but hate the rerelease covers, but the original versions are really expensive...

Having said that I still need that Vicious Rumours as well...

I had both Carnivore albums in Pricekillers but got rid of them. Cheap layout but to some people, they are highly sought after. To be honest, I gave up reading 95% of lyrics about 15 years back so booklet content isn't important to me, though I don't like cover art being meddled with.

Some of my favourite trades - non de script cd I cannot even recall for Thrash Records pressing of Carbonized 'For the Security' around 2000. Also traded 4 non de script cds around the same time for Megaslaughter's 'Calls from the Beyond' lp. Internet was great around this time - used to be able to find heaps of albums from sellers at decent prices. Then Ebay took hold.

Agree. Ebay was great at first as well.

But now I somehow miss sending money into obscure countries for a tape and hoping to get it (even when I was a bit late with this in the late 90s). Surprisingly it mostly worked, think most of those postal services in those coutries were better then their reputation.

Never had problems with South American or East Euro countries. Used to send cash all the time. I'm not nostalgic for it as Paypal makes things a lot easier (including spending money unfortunately). In saying so, I probably sent cash mostly to Italy (was a guy there who used to distro HMSS around 2001) and HMSS in Japan (stopped dealing with the clown behind that label around 2003 - a real flog).

That song I posted previously on this page by YOB, been to listening that whole album "clearing the path to ascend" for the past few days. It is awesome. Heavy as **** at times... yet somewhat psychedelic. highly recommend it.

Flicking through a few pages on here and most of the music seems to be a bit more "underground" than MH but I love these guys and their new song is awesome.

Hi btw \m/
