I didn't listen to many new albums this year but Ascension was my clear standout.

Cathedral - Society's Pact With Satan - brilliant album out of nowhere.
Doomentor - ... Of Pestilence, War and Death - this band is like Darkthrone but better.
Noisepicker - The Earth Will Swallow the Sun - ripping underground release.
Pyre - Where Obscurity Sways - OSDM band that does not disappoint.
Crust - Where Light Fears to Descend - best underground band in Russia.

Five Aussie releases:
Remains - Grinding From The Grave - kill the posers!
Black Majesty - Oceans of Black - great power metal album.
Flitcraft - Transmission Echo - Phil King has the Midas touch!
Hidden Intent - Terrorform - a distinct lack of drop bears but still a good album.
Dreadnaught - Shutdown in a Heartbeat - Dreadnaught doing their thing.

Wait, Cathedral are back?
 
Only listened to 47 new releases this year. Normally 100+, so not sure if it was a down year or was too lazy in listening to new stuff.

Couldn't do a top-10, but Cénotaphe, Drudkh, Eternal Darkness, Grenadier, Phobocosm, Savage Master, Rites of Tara, Coroner, Amorphis, Havukruunu all put out some decent albums.
