Sorry - I didn't realize it was my pick.

I'll take Patrick Lipinsky.

Pick 46 (GWS)
Tony Olango

Rationale - although we have big Mummy and Lobby as a dynamic duo, Shane isn't getting any younger and Rory is more a Forward who can ruck so the depth chart is skinny. We do have young Flynn coming through who looks good and Downie is serviceable but another big man would be nice.

Olango is extremely raw having just come into the game late from soccer but he is super quick and jumps like a grasshopper. He will take 3-4 years to be the finished product but if he maintains improvement he can be a weapon. We also have a burgeoning Sudanese/African community building in the west so he can be a leader and hopefully convince more kids to give AFL a go. Who knows if it all worked out we could limit our Academy to Western Sydney and keep everyone from bleating!!

Roo Beauty - Like someone said earlier, This draft drags out way too long should give an allotted 5 mins, and do it in 2hours on a night like tonight for example, thoughts?

I'm happy for it to take a few days. We're filling time til the draft.

If could move a BIT faster ...

Just start another phantom, give different players a chance at drafting and set those rules. Bit late to change the rules of this draft half way through.

Update:
Pick 3 (Brisbane):
Hugh McCluggage

Pick 16 (Brisbane):
Daniel Venables

Pick 17 (Port Adelaide):
Todd Marshall

Pick 18 (Western Bulldogs):
Will Hayward

Pick 19 (Sydney):
Jordan Gallucci

Pick 20 (Essendon):
Tim English

Pick 21 (Brisbane):
Jordan Ridley

Pick 22 (Brisbane):
Josh Battle

Pick 23 (St Kilda):
Oliver Florent

As much as I am a Ainsworth fan, picking McCluggage at 3 is the most likely move. Can't fault this pick.

However, as another poster mentioned on the Brisbane board, these players picked at 16, 21 and 22 for Brisbane represent our absolute worse case scenario from this years draft.

At 16, with Berry, Simpkin and Witherden gone, Florent is probably at the top of our board. I just can't see Brisbane passing on Oliver Florent if he is still on board at pick 16. If Brisbane did not pick Florent at 16 and he was still on board at picks 21 & 22 there is no chance Brisbane would pass on him.

Venables has been discussed a little as a possible selection at picks 21 & 22 if he's still on board. But he's far from a fan favourite, with some very respected posters really down on him, particularly due to the problems Venables has with his feet.

Players in the mix at 21 and 22 if still on board, especially if we went McCluggage and Florent early would be Shai Bolton, Venables, Ridley, Rotham, Cedric Cox . Maybe even a big bodied mid such as Dylan Clarke. Battle would be a (very) outside chance as a third tall option.

Word on our board has been that interstate clubs might not pick him on compassionate grounds, because it would be hard on the kid to be away from his family at this point. No idea how true that is.

I have read this, but would still back our player welfare team to help the kid and his family.

Just don't get the pampered attitude of so many kids/players in AFL. In most sports world wide, kids/players know they have to move to make it in the sport, and not just interstate. Many kids have to move overseas, and will make many moves during their careers. Can't wait until the AFL brings in more NBA style draft and trade rules.

Was considering bidding on Sproule at Fremantle's pick 41 but I couldn't justify the risk that it would go unmatched after taking Kerr at 38, also really wanted Walker
