Pick 13

West Coast selects Sam Powell-Pepper

Also considered: Jarrod Berry and Will Hayward

Rationale: Adds some real pace and fire power to an Eagles midfield looking to take the next step. Ready made player who can jump into the team in round one, and contribute to a flag tilt.

Flawed, can you explain to me and pardon my simpletoness in this regard!

Perryman gets bid on with Pick 12 which has a points cost of 1268 but 1014 to match.

We have Pick 15 (1112) do we not merely move up from there and the surplus moves to next available selection (37)??

Again pardon my ignorance re this!

I don't know mate. I just do the spreadsheets in the pretty colours. This whole bidding system has got me stuffed.

I think you will find they use a combination of their later picks to make that bid. Leaving 15 still availiable. Which is why they brought in all the later and mid range picks??

15 moves to 12. The remainder (98 points) creates a new pick which would be pick 65 (value of 90 points), so all picks after that move back one.

Isn't Adelaide before port in the order though Adelaide had 13 which is now 14 cause of the bid

Nah the bids get matched with your next available pick you cant choose which ones to match with. So for a bid of 12 15 gets used and then the next pick (37) either moves forward or back depending on whether the matching team is owed points or still has some more to pay. 50s picks dont get used until their earlier picks are used first.
