Help BigFooty security breach email tonight

Sorry not sure you got my question. I get that all pre 2012 pms are gone.

Have post April 2012 pms been searchable via the search function? Is that the breach?

Or is it some orchestrated hack?

The search index was open to anyone with the skills and tools - but not since 2012. This contains all documents - posts, convo messages etc. This includes private messages.

Unless you posted a BigFooty account password somewhere on the site, your BigFooty account password is safe along with all of your other registration info.

You can't guarantee that considering you didn't even know of the data breach until 8 years later

As per the notice - May 14th was when it was found and plugged. From what I have been told today it was in place for up to about 10-14 days.

Just an FYI about a canary in the coal mine - being 40 or so Twitter and gmail accounts for which I have shared passwords with moderators in the past.

None of them have even had an attempted unauthorised login, but I have changed all passwords.
