You can disable he social buttons in your personal preferences. I flicked them off this morning as they were overlapping with content on mobile.
Holy **** I love you

Yeah I've been using that, but that's my main way of navigating through the site, it seems impractical that you now need to minimise and maximise it when you want to use it.
Apologies if we have been over this today - but that pop-out menu is exactly the same as it has been for many years.

The main box for all content is actually about 100 pixels narrower than it was in the old style. I still don't understand what it covers now compared to last time. It doesn't seem physically possible unless you have changed the width of your browser window.

Is this in relation to mobile or desktop?

On mobile the "related threads" looked like ads - specifically those Taboola-style fake news ads you get on blogs and news articles - so much so that I immediately disregarded them as being useless and made me think "wow, the sites's got a lot of ads now". They're also quite bulky and I don't know the images really add much value (other than being what triggered me to realise that they weren't ads).

Also, can we add a link to the current forum back to the bottom of the site? I used to use that a fair bit on mobile but now it doesn't exist, so I have to scroll right back up to the top of the page.

Multiple requests and it’s “not a priority”? May I ask why?
Because apart from a few people saying "it's a little brighter now" and some people saying "argh my eyes I am dying" I can't actually see much hurry to invent and install a whole new colour scheme that all users will be happy with in any case.

For instance people have asked for a night mode, but that could be done in any number of ways. there was a comment about "white on white" which I don't really understand yet.

So what I will be doing is moving through a few shades to tone it down a bit, but it is not a priority to add a whole new mode or sub-style.

:mad:I dont like change in principle.

:blush:The edit buttons are great, I'm a luddite that was using the codes Sigh, I'll get used to it.

They've always been there - that's not new with this style. the position hasn't changed I don't think but I will compare now. Is there something that you think has made them stand out more now?

"a link to the current forum back to the bottom of the site"

Sorry I don't understand what you mean. A "TOP" link from the bottom back to the top of the page? A link back to the site home page?

It's on my laptop. On my desktop it appears fine as my screen is wider. I'm not sure how it's the same as it never blocked it like this before, ie. yesterday on the same laptop. I use the side navigation bar all the time, so it's a bit of a nuisance.

Don't have an issue with anything else though and I remember several years ago when you introduced the side navigation bar that I thought it was silly and took up unnecessary space, and now I can't do without it...so yeah, we adjust.

I am so lost now :) The edit buttons? We haven't added anything new that I know of.

Isn’t there an option in the Xenforo forum software to enable themes?

I visit another Xenforo forum and it has a scrollable bar at the bottom to change the theme colour.

I really can't imagine what has changed - the menu is exactly the same width and position but the content window is slightly narrower. If anything, LESS of your content window would be covered.

Yes, "styles" in Xf are themes.

Which forum? I can have a look.

Probably me, my view didn't include the buttons to bold underline etc. I was never comfortable with the App.
You can click the link at the top right of the post entry box which will give you the BB code editor.

It is quite a lot brighter than the old theme.
Its a common observation, but the colour palette itself is almost identical:

I am guessing some areas have lighter backgrounds?

Either you've done this and it seems easier to look at, or my monitor has gone to night mode.

It actually is there if it's what I think it is; It's the bar at the bottom of the post-thread after the "Similar Threads" box - I think previously it was near the page numbers, before the reply box, whereas now it's lower down.

Feels like i am having to scrolling a lot more on the mobile site especially looking at a poll
Yeah there will be a little more. The font size of the thread titles in the old mobile style was pretty small, for instance. Every little bit adds up until it is noticeable.

Either my eyes have changed or you've done this and it feels much easier to look at.

Yeah that might be the case I will have a look now.

Ah, hang on, I just noticed there's two of them now. The first one is fine and reasonably styled, then there's some ads, and there's another group of thread links, right down the bottom, with messy formatting.

The second one I want gone.

I just found it - it's wedged between the first related threads bit and the ads. If the second related threads bit disappeared then that would probably make it easier to find.

Apologies if already asked. Is the mobile version meant to look like the desktop version or do I need to flick a switch somewhere to go back to the mobile version?
That's the mobile responsive version of the single style. There is no other version.

It's in exactly the same place.

NEW:

The only thing that is different is the "share" box has returned. We don't really need that so I will hide it.

Maybe one of those ad slots will be removed or changed.

Is it possible that the rest of the page was responsive to the size of the screen? Cruyff14 unless I am going crazy I am sure that it never behaved this way before, can you double confirm?
