Can't agree with this as our dominance, and Priddis' work, should just as reasonably by attributed to Naitanui's dominance.
IMO Naitanui was our most important player this weekend.
And I wouldn't be advocating that 3 votes to Priddis would be incorrect for this game, because he was clearly one of the three best players on the ground.
But it happens often that he receives 3 votes even when he isn't in the top handful of players.
This, how many times have we had a laugh when he gets the top votes in the media etc and he would have been lucky to be in the top 10 on the field, just because he gets a lot of the ball.

Better late than never...

Round 1 Results
We took care of Brisbane in Round 1 without really getting out of 2nd gear. Our attack was far to great for them to handle even if we did allow them to score way too freely.

Notes:
1) As you can see the Top 3 were clear cut. Kennedy with 8 goals, Nic Nat with a ruck clinic and Priddis with 43 touches. It was universally accepted that these 3 were the most influential on the ground. Kennedy picked up 61 BOG votes, Nic Nat 20 and Priddis 5. They actually filled the Top 3 spots in 82 of the 86 voters ballots.
2) 86 votes is a great start to the year. More than any round from last year. 20 people voted on the game that didn't vote in any game last year. Welcome!!!
3) In my typical name and shame method the following people are crazy... kirsti didn't think Nic Nat was worth a vote despite everyone else giving Nic Nat a minimum of 3 votes and QS didn't think Priddis was worth a vote even though everyone else gave him a minimum of 2 votes. They are the only two that didn't have the combo of Nic Nat, Kennedy and Priddis within their votes out of the 86 voters.

Round 2

Pitiful I think is the word. That's what I'd use for our effort against the Hawks in Round 2. We were given a chance early in the season to show that we meant business with a rematch against the Hawks at the MCG. Seems like the team that played in lasts years Grand Final turned up...

Notes:
1) Not only do the West Coast Eagles not turn up on the road, neither do the voters. After a record 86 voters last week, this week there was only 49 voters.
2) Jack Darling was the most popular Eagle being picked by everyone except RookiePick (though he did give him an HM)
3) Jack Darling picked up 26 of the BOGs, while next best was Kennedy on 11.
4) It was the week for if your name started with "J". 5 of the top 6 voters had a first name starting with "J". I calculated the odds of that happening at 1 quadzillion to one.
5) In a weird voting thing Nic Nat picked up votes from only 2 people, but they were a BOG and a 4 voters (MrKK & eagles rule ). Those two obviously watched the game together, and probably a different game to the rest of us :p

Round 3
After a slow start we took care of Freo, while being a little shaky in the 3rd quarter. While Freo has since been horrible, it was a pretty big win at the time after an average start to the season.

After 6 rounds....

Some of our backline is struggling.

Shannon Hurn has 0.72 votes (17th most)
Brad Sheppard only has 0.46 votes (19th most)
Eric McKenzie only has 0.23 votes (22nd most)
Schofield hasn't had a vote yet

After 6 rounds each of those players had played every game, except Schofield, who missed Round 1.

Round 7
I think this was at this stage reality set in that we were just a middle of the road team. We got pumped by Geelong and outside 15 minutes in the 3rd quarter the game was embarrassing to watch.

1) Brad Sheppard was close to a unanimous BOG picking up 34 of the 35 five votes. Only Avalor thought he wasn't worthy of the 5 votes (gave Nic Nat BOG)
2) Welcome to the votes Will Schofield! He picked up a grand total of 3 votes
3) Most votes in a game for Scott Lycett this season. Likewise Chris Masten.
4) Like the Eagles, the voters didn't turn up. Only 35 voters is the lowest of the season.

Would be surprised if Schofield gets any more votes this year
