Let's get started with a list of players that didn't get a game this year...

Corey Adamson
Kurt Mutimer
Jordan Snadden
Paddy Brophy
Matthew Allen
Damien Cavka
Alec Waterman
Tom Lamb
Luke Partington
Brant Colledge
Kane Lucas

Next up is the players who got a game, but didn't get a vote...

Tied 33rd

Mitch Brown

After losing everything but 1 quarter last season Brown struggled to get a game with the Eagles this season. He only played 4 games in total and still managed to play forward, back and in the ruck. May be a trade target this offseason.

Xavier Ellis

The X-Man has been a solid recruit since coming over west. Didn't have much game time this year (2 games) and retired late in the season.

Fraser McInnes

Fraser added two games to his resume this year, however he didn't have much influence in those games. Needs to step up next season.

Tom Cole came in and played back to back games in Round 10 and 11. He showed a little promise, but didn't do enough to hold his spot. Had a solid year in the WAFL averaging almost 20 touches a game in 16 games. Still very young at only 19 and has signed a contract extension during the year. Should hopefully start getting a regular gig as his body matures.

Malcolm only had the 1 game for the season against Collingwood, picking up 8 possessions. At WAFL level he struggled over the first half of the season, even being sent back to the reserves at one stage. His second half of the season was much stronger though.

Has been in an out of the team for the last few years and only managed 2 games this season (Round 1 and 2). Was pretty solid in Round 1 against Brisbane picking up 17 possessions. Was moved on at the end of the season.

Strung 3 games together late in the season before a suspension cost him in the lead up to the finals. One wonders where this kid is going after his 4th season. Has played just 10 games in that time. Picked up some votes even though he never picked up more than 11 possessions in a game.

Just 0.52 votes in 22 games is astonishingly low, and puts him last in votes per game for players receiving votes. While he plays a role that is never going to make him a big vote getter, it is still a disappointing result.

Saved his best for last when he was named 7th best in the EF.

He won this award only 2 seasons ago. And he won it comfortably. A knee reconstruction cost him 2015 and, while he was on the field, seemed to cost him 2016 as well. Was given a chance at the start of the season, where he played the first 11 games before being dropped. Was a shadow of his former self this season and was overtaken by Barrass. His decision making and skills were also quite poor.

Got 2 late season games when Shofield and Barrass missed games, but didn't do much. His WAFL form was pretty solid however when playing back at East Perth.

Best game of the season came in Round 11 against the Western Bulldogs. The only time he was named in our top 10 players.

Is likely to be trade bait this offseason.

Sam Butler is never going to be an accumulator of votes. He just keeps on plugging on.

The last of our 2006 premiership team had no problems getting a regular gig on the field this season. Seemed to just constantly pick up a vote or two in games this season (polled votes in 12 of his 20 games), but never had a great performance. His biggest votes getting round was his game against GWS were he was named our 7th best.

If someone at the start of the season had told you Sam Butler would have more votes than EMac and Schofield combined, that injury wasn't an issue for any of the players and Butler would still only finish 26th in the voting would you have been sent to the loony bin?

:drunk::drunk::drunk:

Buttman had a pretty solid season but a 5 vote system is never going to show that.

agree with that. He's the sort of guy that would constantly get a 5 or 6 out of 10 for a game. He's not going to get any 8s though.

Getting votes in 12 of the 20 games is a good reflection of his game. Compare that to Schofield who got votes in 4 out of 22 games.
