Once again there was a fairly big step up to the next voter (6+ vote gap between 2nd and 3rd).

As far as I'm concerned during this year Kennedy did two things. Confirmed his position as the best Full Forward in the league and moved past Sumich as WCE greatest ever forward.

Kennedy started the season on fire with a BOG and a second best on ground in the first two weeks. He then actually had a bit of a lull between round 3 and 7 where he was relatively quiet on the vote front. But after that for the rest of the season he was dominant. In the next 14 games Kennedy would have 4 BOGs, which in itself is amazing. But not only that he had another 5 times he was in the Top 3 players on the field. And on top of that another 2 in the Top 6. Amazing for a guy who is reliant on someone else getting him the ball. In those 14 games Kennedy would kick 60 goals. That's 4.3 a game!

Kennedy's 5 BOGs was equal best with Shuey.

His BOG performances...

Round 1 against Brisbane where he had a career high 25 possessions and 8 goals.
Round 9 against Port where he had 7 goals
Round 10 against Gold Coast where he had 5 goals
Round 20 against Freo where he had 7 goals
Round 22 against Hawks where he had 5 goals.

Unfortunately even though he finished the season with BOG, 3rd best, BOG and 3rd best in the last 4 rounds, he couldn't carry it on into the finals where he was a relative non factor in our loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Interesting stat - In 15 of the 23 games Kennedy stayed on the field for the whole game.

Well you didn't vote in the EF, so there was your chance to give him 5 more votes ;)
What EF final? Game should have never been voted on, a disgrace. :footy:

Upgrading Kennedy and Naitanui was always a priority heading into this season, and this promising young dual-position gun was the clear candidate to kill two birds with one stone. Providing a focal point up forward, in the ruck and in all club marketing campaigns, Petrie confirmed his status as GOAT with a dominant year and will be the backbone of this club for many years to come.

His BOG performances...

Every match, especially the one where he won a hit-out.

Interesting stat - Petrie's head is actually the most cubic we have had at the club since Darren Glass.

After finishing runner up last year to Gaff by the barest of margins (0.2 votes), Shuey smashed the field this season. Shuey had more votes than the following players combined...

Jamie Cripps, Shannon Hurn, Sharrod Wellingham, Chris Masten, Mark Hutchings, Patrick McGinnity, Jack Redden, Liam Duggan, Lewis Jetta, Jackson Nelson, John Giles, Dom Sheed, Sam Butler, Eric Mackenzie, Will Schofield, Simon Tunbridge, Jamie Bennell, Malcolm Karpany, Tom Cole, Xavier Ellis, Fraser McInnes and Mitch Brown.

They played a combined 237 games this season.

Shuey just didn't seem to play a bad game. He picked up votes in every game this season. He picked up decent votes (more than 0.4 votes) in 21 of the 24 games, which is amazingly consistent.

Just scan through the votes below and Shuey was almost a certainty to finish in our Top 7 players each week.

Shuey took the lead for good in the progressive count for good in Round 11 and never looked back streaking away from the field to win by almost 15 votes.

His best game of the season came in Round 21 against GWS in our biggest win of the year. He totaled a career high 38 possessions and 2 goals. His last quarter was stunning as he single handy (with a little magic from Nic Nat) dragged us across the line. Some how he didn't get 5.00 for that performance (thanks RookiePick !)

His other 4 BOGs were...

Round 4 against Richmond where he had 22 possessions and 2 goals
Round 8 against Port where he had 31 possessions and 9 clearances.
Round 16 against North Melbourne where he had 29 possessions and 9 clearances.
EF against the Bulldogs where he had 28 possessions and looked like one of the few that cared.
