Anyone been following the Championship.

Old news, but couldn't help but notice Kyle Naughton was selected at right back in the nPower Championship Team of the Season. I kept hearing about how much Walker had stepped up but it looks like the other Kyle has been doing pretty damn well too.

Amazing how good Dawson looks next to King. Sandro will be world class. Rose looks the goods.

I want us to play Europa League so I hope we beat Birmingham. It's a realistic chance at winning a trophy. We have no chance at top 4, so might as well go all out for League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League. Spurs have always been a cup side. The league is ****ing boring anyway. Away games at the Reebok and the Stadium of Light don't exactly fill me with excitement.

Pessimist of the highest order. You'd make a good Arsenal supporter.

We still have a huge shot at top 4 next year, especially providing we can hold onto guys like Modric.

If we can get King to play 15-20 games (probably stretching it) and sign a new striker, we should definitely improve.

Speaking of strikers, we might be getting Ruud van Nistelrooy. Given he's available on a free, Levy and Harry probably won't be able to resist.

Can see us getting Parker & Ba.
We have always been one of the first to check out a carcass, Carrick, Defoe, Kanoute, Lennon, spring to mind.

Think we're a bit harsh on rating our season a total failure. Just missed top 4, won our group in the CL, knocked out the Serie A champions, won @ San Siro & Emarittes & Anfield, competitive against all the big sides in the league. It all went wrong with the 'lesser' sides, get this right and we would well and truly have been in the top couple.

IMO this comes down to two things, lack of a quality striker & being smashed by injuries. If you look at our best XI only Modric and Gomes have played more than 30 games. At the back nobody has played more than 30. Kaboul missed ages, Dawson missed a large chunk early, Gallas has soldier on but has still missed many games, King 7 months out, BAE has missed from time to time, Corluka also

Demba Ba wouldn't be the worst signing but he's failed two medicals and he's a bit inconsistent. I still want to see us move for Ricky van Wolfswinkel. He's looked pretty damn good this year when fit and would benefit us strongly in the long term.

I also want Gio to come back. Harry looks desperate to sell him but I think he'll be a better player than Lennon on the right hand side.

Does anyone still want Harry here after all his comments recently?

Personally I think his position is untenable.

Fans justifiably getting annoyed because of our atrocious end to the season and Harry calls them idiots. Classy

I've wanted him gone for a while but you know he's gonna stay. He keeps pointing the finger at our CL campaign, which while it was successful, shouldn't be an excuse for our poor form toward the end of the season.

Not buying a striker is totally inexcusable as well. It's somewhat understandable at the start of the season, because Pavlyuchenko and Defoe finished the 09/10 season in good form, but we unquestionably needed one in January. It wouldn't have even had to be a world class striker, just someone different, like maybe a Rodallega or a Kalinic, just to give us an alternative to the rubbish we've been putting up with all season.

Levy loves him though, so the only hope is for England to appoint him. Should he go, I'd like Roberto Di Matteo personally. Plays good, fast football along the ground and he'd probably suit our team well.

This season has been a failure. I don't see how anyone can argue otherwise.

League: The requirement was to finish top 4. We didn't. Nine home draws - the most in the league.

CL: We should have made the quarters at the very least and we did.

League Cup: Played the kids in a NLD and got embarrassed. Atrocious team selection.

FA Cup: Biggest disappointment for mine. Got battered at Fulham with a pretty strong team. Hutton was his usual self and Daws had a rare shocker. Not entirely Redknapp's fault.

Rodallega is growing on me. I'd like Gyan, Rodallega or Ba, in that order.

The idiots comment is something thats going to upset a few but he'll get away with that.

But you can't tell your supporters that "this is as good as it gets", thats going to cost him a lot of support within the Spurs support I would think.

yeah that was the main one for me moomba. Basically saying that 5th is the best we will aim for.

Mind you 3 months ago he said we could win the league....

GB I can't believe you are still behind keeping him at Spurs. He had a horror season this year.
He hasn't had a horror season at all, it's hugely exaggerated by people like yourself.

He's made some mistakes that have lead to goal, especially toward the end of the season, but putting those aside, he's been one of the most solid keepers in the league.

He pretty much carried our defense in the game against Blackpool at WHL until that stupid campaigner Taylor-Fletcher took a massive dive, which pretty much masked his brilliant performance that game.

I would have rather kept faith in him for next season, because when he's at his best, he's one of the best keepers in the world.

Also, I would hate us to get stuck into the goalkeeper market. They're going to be highly in-demand and expensive this window. If Gomes does leave, I'd rather give the #1 to Cud or Pletikosa for a season.

I wonder if someone like Ben Foster might be available. Gomes out and Foster in for not all that much difference in money wouldn't be a bad deal.

Levy might go for the cheaper (and much worse) option in Green.

This is one of the main reasons I'd rather hold on to Gomes. If we went into the keeper market, we'd probably wind up with shit like Green.

If Gomes goes back to PSV, give the #1 to Cudicini and buy another backup keeper.

No just buy a good keeper and don't let Harry choose who is bought because they will undoubtably be
a) triffic
b) full of character and a triffic lad
c) cheap

...or just forget about buying a keeper at all and put all focus on buying a new striker.

It's by far our biggest problem area and it without question warrants fixing over the our 'supposed' goalkeeper situation.

oh you will get no argument from me about that GD. For all of Gomes mistakes he looked WC compared to the 3 clowns we had up front.
Heck you make me want to dig up the prev thread and read my posts from last July which said exactly the same thing.
