I had a feeling keeping Keane was a bad idea. We should've gotten whatever he could from him but now, his value is going to plumet. He lacks pace, can't pass and too slow to react when we're on the break. Are there really no other backup striker options?

and yes, I'd play Gio over Lennon at the moment. Lennon seriously needs to improve his form and if he's going to play like that then Gio deserves another chance in the side. I'd at least play him against Wolves.

I hope Harry realises what can be achieved when Robbie Keane isn't on the pitch. Surely our manager isn't that stupid?
This.

Brilliant run from hutton (who had a very good game) to earn that pen, and his goal was lucky but he deserved one really. Pavs celebration was quality aswell:thumbsu:

Oh and keane could probably start for us midweek against the scum:thumbsdown:. Even though its just the league cup id really want to see us smash those *****.

...To think we could have gotten what? 5mil for Keane from Villa? We should have taken whatever we could, his value's gonna plummet now.

Still happy with the win, Lennon looks like he's getting better and VDV looks awesome.

We are running out of central defenders. King, Corluka, Gallas and Kaboul all ruled out for the Arsenal game. I reckon we will see a CB pairing of Bassong and Huddlestone.

I'm hearing Sandro will make his debut. Hopefully Hutton, Gio, Kranjcar and Pav get a start as well. Never thought I would say this but I would like to see Jenas retain his place.

It's going to be our reserves vs. Arsenals kids.

I think Gallas and King are both ok but just being rested. This is easily the least important of all 4 cups and I'd rather we get knocked out nice and quickly.

Caulker likely to start. Sandro to be handed a debut. And possibly a start for Livermore and Naughton according to the daily mail. Giovanni, Krancjar, Hutton and Bentley are surely certainties

Always dissapointing loosing to the scum but its only the carling cup and now just one less fixture to worry about. My thoughts on the game:

  • Sandro looked good and grew as the game went on
  • Pletikosa had me worried a few times (flapped like the old gomes from a free kick) and overall was a little dissapointing (even though all of the goals wernt really his fault)
  • Bentley was back to his old self (although he's coming back from injury so hopefully he finds his form again

  • Livermore looked OK, but we had a poor 1st half so he couldnt really have much influence
  • Pav cant hold be a lone striker unless we have some quality like VDV or modric jsut behind him
  • Keanes a hack even though he scored
  • And, we now have wet spams cup final on the weekend. We should hopefulyl win 3-0.:thumbsu:

Can't believe that game was actually important to some people (both sides)*? Happy to be out of the comp.

* Waits patiently for gif of little kid crying.
