Seriously, we’re considering selling Dele out of this lot.

Lamela is comfortably our 3rd most creative attacker after Son and Kane, no coincidence we have been goalless without them for so long.

Winks has no consistency whatsoever. Can play well then next match look like Bambi on ice. Winks and Sissoko in a game we look like dominating possession usually doesn’t work. Bale just needs continuity, can tell he lacks match fitness and sharpness.

Tanguy, Kane and Son on second half. Wish we could get Hojbjerg on too.

Probably should of scored 7 or 8. Really want to see the front 3 of Bale, Son and Kane in the premier league ASAP. The positions and goal threat Bale possesses can’t be matched by any other player in his position. Continuity of play will see him take those chances he missed today

Really only can trust 4-5 to create chances. Son, Kane and Ndombele are our clear 3 best. Lamela and Bale the best of the rest.

Jury out on Vinicius given he’s done well against poor Europa opponents but hasn’t had much of a crack at a higher level. Moura and Bergwijn should be sold. Poor.

For reference. City and Chelsea had to pick decent sides and bring on star players to get passed Cheltenham and Luton respectively. Arsenal went with a change side and have no stars so were dumped. Tough slog of a congested season, any passage through will do.

Thought he was decent tonight. Just a complete difference in quality compared to Lucas on the other wing
chalk and cheese.
Noise out of the club seemingly is that if he can get match fit they are confident he can seriously impact the side in the second half of the season.

We struggle to fit enough attacking quality in when playing against weaker sides. We need to be playing 3 out of Kane, Son, Bale, Lucas or Dele. And then 1 out of Lo Celso and N'dombele.

Thought Lucas was very good tonight especially in the first half when he was the only play worthy of a pass mark.

The scoreline probably reflected the game, albeit very frustrating we had to wait till the end to score those goals. However 4-1 reflects the chances we had throughout the game but we just couldn’t finish earlier - didn’t really get out of second gear either so seemed a little poor by our standards.

Late on the laptop today. Performances worthy of discussion both good and bad

Mourinho: picked a good starting XI considering rotation needs with Liverpool coming up. But Sissoko-Winks struggled as a combo for the 100th time. Lamela and Viniscius didn't take their chances.

Tanganga: good aerial threat at our end but I just don't see him being a top flight RB far too limited on the ball
CB pairing: horid showing from both. Bullied. Letting balls bounce in the box. Rodon now a starter in the league perhaps?
Lamela: see tweet above, if there were points for shooting while slipping he'd score 10's every week
Viniscius: only thing outweighing his heavy touch stats was his offside count

Hojberg: boss as usual
Ndombele: so good to watch him in action
Lucas: bonus half mark for the assist out nowhere & also for 3 very good corners in the first half. So refreshing to see a back post attempt!
Winks: great finish for the 2nd goal, tidy throughout and better 2nd half without Sissoko
Bale: great to get 90 mins under his belt, even at his worst he is a genuine goal threat. In better form he scores 3 or 4 out there. He is just that good that even a hot and cold night can score an 8

Tend to agree, as I referenced above.

We scored late which was frustrating and makes you think “gee we were lucky”

However we scored four which reflects the general control and chances we had throughout the match. If we’d scored at the 20th, 40th, 60th and 80th we’d be looking at the game differently.

We hit the post and bar a couple of times plus all of the Bale chances. Just needed one of them to go our way and it becomes the 4-1 sooner and we don't need to call upon all of the cavalry
