LOL the sun dont have any clue about the goings on at Spurs apart from when Rose's agent set that interview up.

The guardian and the mirror are much closer to the truth with us and they haven't said anything like that

What's concerning is the reports that have come out today. Depending on you read, some of the other players have either privately agreed with Rose's comments about wages or applauded him and given him a 'hero's welcome (guess which paper wrote that)' on his return to the training ground.
Nothing wrong with them agreeing. They're right and on that we cannot move into our new ground quick enough. That wage bill just has to increase. They need to be paid what they're worth.

They've all (bar Toby) signed extensions in the last 12 months. If they're stupid enough to sign them and complain 12 months later when we haven't magically found new revenue sources then they're thick as ****

True. This is a big red flag for the club however as well. It's a clear message that this squad needs to start being paid what it is worth.

But what's paying them what they're worth? The same as what they would earn at City, United or Chelsea? We just can't afford that until our revenue increases with the new stadium, and even then I doubt we'll be able to go that high. It's not sustainable. I understand that they're frustrated when they see the odd player at Palace or West Ham (Benteke, Chicharito, Arnautovic etc) paid the same or more than them, but that's because they've only paid 1 or 2 players that salary and the rest are on a lot less. The problem with us is that we have 11 or 12 players who deserve those wages.

Pretty sure I mentioned moving in.. oh wait I did.

The wage bill is the most important part, forget big money signings. Having our best players on £50-75k is laughable. I mean Barkley would need to take a pay cut to come here and that's if he earns £100k like Kane etc. it is laughable that this is what Eriksen, Dele, Super Jan are earning. The good faith will only last so long. It has to be the first thing we do from next season, renegotiate contracts and pay them more. Not Man City levels but close 100k each for our best players.

Haha I wasn't disagreeing with you or anything, mate. In fact, I was agreeing with you, just trying to contribute to the discussion.

There's no point players complaining about something we can't do until we move in before we move in and that's exactly what Rose has done here.

Sept 2016 when he signed a 5 year extension our revenue streams were X
Aug 2017 when he went rogue and bitched and moaned to the sun our revenue streams are still X

The clubs doing all they can here. He is on 5k a week more than Dele Alli FFS

So what are the options here. He definitely goes this window imo Poch has lost it at players for far less. I can only see 2 good options for us and both involve selling him to Man United.

1) sell him for 50m+
2) sell him for 35m + shaw

Keep him. Lose both fullbacks and we could soon have an exodus on our hands.
It's more important than selling Rose merely out of frustration. The only suitors are two rivals and we've already sold one fullback to a rival, and he went about it in the right manner.

There's no way back from that other than him apologising in the media. He is as good as done for me as Soldado was after the Fiorentina game. Cash in now before he rots in the reserves. Shouldn't play another game without a public apology imo

That's you. That doesn't necessarily mean the powers that be agree. Walker had a much better replacement in the squad. United won't hand over Shaw. Soton won't part with another player so that rules out Bertrand.

Pragmatism is required. We're unlikely to improve on him this window so he should stay. Hopefully with a very big blast from Poch.

Poch won't want him back after that and neither will the fans. It'll get toxic. I'd back Shaw and Davies in at least until January and if they're no good flog one of them and spend 30m on Sessengon.

As Pleat says he isn't the only LB in the world. 27 and coming off 9 months out he is as big of a risk as Luke Shaw is right now

Di Maria or Pastore both play in the position we seem to be wanting to strengthen the most. Both attitude queries over them though right?

Di Maria definitely wouldn't be right for us. Pastore unsure. Not sure what his problems are guessing it's work ethic?

He isn't. I doubt they hand him over though, highly doubt it.
He didn't cut Sissoko loose for unsolicited and poor comments to L'Equipe after a CL defeat in France so it's not a foregone conclusion.

If he comes out and says he's been spoken to and won't be sold, I'll back him and Rose 100%

If we sold him to United and somehow got Shaw as part of the deal I'm of the opinion that, long term, it could turn out really well for us. No doubt there will be a short term loss, but Shaw was immense under Poch at Soton and that was as a 17/18 year old. Although he started slowly at United, in the season in which he broke his leg he was looking good until that incident.

I'm 99% sure Danny Rose will never play for us again.

We need Poch to get to 100% sure on what the real situation is quickly on this. If he wants him gone he should be sold within the week and we work on a deal. If he wants him to stay he has to force him to apologise through the press again.

Can't be letting the tail wag the dog like that and letting him speak out about things that don't involve him. It's not his job to sign players he is the ******* left back. We cant have Eric Dier telling the tea lady how much milk to put in Dembele's morning tea or Dele Alli telling the security guards how firm to shake Poch's hand. They've all got a job to do and should just worry about doing that

Shaw may just need the love and arm around his shoulder that neither LvG or MoU has given him. I'd still go for Sessengon with the money part of the deal.

30-35m + Shaw for Rose
25-35m for Ryan Sessengon
Sessengon + Shaw for Rose

Lose one 27 year old coming off a bad injury and pick up a 23 year old whose struggled with injury and a 17 year old who everyone thinks will be England's starting LB in the next 3 years.

3 years from now we've forgone a 30 year old rose and have a 26 year old shaw and a 20 year old Sessengon. Going into our third season at the new stadium what's better to have?

Sell Rose now and we erode everything we've built. Every player in the squad will get a sense you can get out if you bitch to a paper. Selling him is boneheaded and I do hope Levy isn't that daft.
The rest don't want out they've all been bought into this project bar Lloris who can't speak highly enough Of it!

Rose is an old school squad member who kicked around with guys like Lennon, Townsend and Walker. All of whom have fallen out with Poch and the club. Danny bought into the project more than those 3 but now he sees one of them earning way more than him and has cracked it

You say that.

9 months ago he talked about nearly being a southerner and finishing his career here and look how quickly the tune changed. You talk about tail wagging the dog, well don't give it a chance. Give this no oxygen and take a hard stance on it. Bitching to the press does not get you sold.
