Bit of a free hit imo now that we've signed someone to be in our first team. Foyth will get the odd game here and there for the next 2 years and we can make a call on him after that. The way prices are going 2 years with us playing 5-10 times we'll be able to sell Foyth for more than 9m if he doesn't come off. Just look at Wimmer and the profit we are making on that deal

The Sanchez signing and the potential one of Foyth is all part of the Poch philosophy, which is "Don't leak goals". He has the attacking force he needs (Lamela will be like a new recruit when he returns) and the midfield so he reinforces the backs.

Speaking of, what is the latest news on Lamela?

Also hope we dont get Barkley. I honestly can't see it ending well. Happy to be wrong... But I won't be.

So, um Alderweireld?
I've only seen a couple of analysis videos of Foyth, but he looks class. Either a long term Vertonghen replacement or someone who could move into midfield ala Dier. He's extremely comfortable on the ball apparently.

I don't think he's necessarily a 'first team' signing though; more one for the future. If we get him I wouldn't be surprised to see CCV out on loan and Foyth take over his role from last season.
Would love it if we ****** off our interest in Barkley and went hard at Draxler and the young Spanish kid instead.
Diop? If so, Barkley >>>>>>>>>>>>> Diop for me.

Strongly disagree with you and cats2rise on Barkley. He's a very good player. Created the most chances for Everton last year and created more chances than any other 23 and under player in Europes top 5 leagues last season. I think he'll be a beast under Pochettino and could create an excellent relationship with Dele and Kane, both of whom are apparently some of his best mates along with Dier.

Cannot agree. Here's why.

With Dele suspended for 3 CL games and Lamela not back until October we need an AM that's playing now. He isn't.
For the price they'll ask his output nowhere near is good enough, significantly inferior to Eriksen, screw chances, assists and goals are what matters and he's inferior.
Many have said he's an 8 and should replace Dembele eventually. Completely different players and not compatible for the role as he's not great defensively.

Point 1 alone is reason enough to say no. Let's just chase Balde Keita, they'll sell as the alternative is Juve for free next summer.

I like Barkley. But with Draxler available I'd rather him and a cheaper CL option.

Interesting...

Really strong rumours on SC that the Championship player is Ryan Sessegnon. 28m fee apparently. I guess we'll see next week if they and Roberts are right.

Personally I don't like him as an 8. I'd much prefer to see him in the 3 behind Kane. Less chances his errors will be punished and more space rotating with a combo of Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lamela etc to work his magic and it would mean more time for Winks in his best position.

Look, I get what you're saying, but it's still pretty impressive. Created more chances than the likes of Lemar last season who is raved about. Not sure how bad his injury is, but it's rumoured that it's nowhere near as being said and he could even be available after the international break. I think he's a good player, improves our depth in teh short term and he's young enough and got enough about him to challenge for a first team place in the future. Put it this way; with Dele suspended and Lamela injured I'd much rather Barkley than Sissoko for those first 3 CL games. It'll be about 25m as well. Not that much in this market, despite the fact he's only got a year left on his contract.

Also, we supposedly did chase Keita and were confident, but he said he only wants to go to Juve and nowhere else. Lazio even released a statement the other day complaining about it because a host of other clubs offered fees between 30m and 40m but Juve only offered 18 and thats where he wants to go. They have no choice but to accept as he's in the last year of his contract.
