Kinda depends on who goes. Every year we sell our best player which means Lloris/Vertonghen (2012/13 version) could be off.

Outs:
Kaboul, Naughton, Holtby, Soldado (if close to break-even), Adebayor (very high wages), Townsend (if a good offer comes in)

Ins:

GK: Krul or Marshall (if Lloris leaves)
RB: promote young Ryan Fredericks (played a couple of Europa League games)
CB: Veltman (young CB from Ajax), promote Veljkovic to senior squad.
LB: Shaw (dreaming) or Ricardo Rodriguez
CM: look pretty set here. Maybe Pochettino will be able to snare Ward-Prowse and Lallana they would be ideal. Would mean that one of Dembele or Paulinho could be off though.
Wingers: Maybe 1 young winger in if Townsend goes.
Forwards: Jay Rodriguez (with Pochettino) or Loic Remy, Lukaku or Jackson Martinez

Squad 2013/14

GK: Lloris (Marshall), Archer, Friedel
RB: Walker, Fredericks
LB: Rodriguez, Rose
CB: Vertonghen, Chiriches, Dawson, Veltman, Fryers, Veljkovic
DM: Sandro, Capoue
CM: Dembele, Paulinho (Lallana), Ward-Prowse, Carroll, Bentaleb
AM/RW/LW: Eriksen, Lamela, Siggurddson, Chadli, Lennon, Pritchard
ST: Soldado/Adebayor, Martinez/Lukaku, Remy/Rodriguez, Kane

Looks like a good squad a bit of overload in the CB, CM and ST positions but with EL football we need it. And also up front Martinez, Remy and Rodriguez can all play out wide also which is good flexibility to have

30 man squad but Archer, Fredericks, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Kane wont be included in the list being U21 and home-grown. Pritchard and Carroll too old to make that list now. Throw in Fryers and there is some good young talent coming through

Not good enough this season. 1 goal and 3 assists isn’t enough from a RW. Does do the unnoticed tracking back well but he just doesn’t deliver enough assists anymore (7 in 12/13, 5 in half a season the one before that). Will be moved on if a bid comes in and probably do well at a mid-table club like West Ham looping up crosses to Carroll.

Lennon is rubbish and should be sold asap, been saying this for ages now. One of the good things about hiring Pochettino is that he would favour Lamela and probably won't give into Lennon's boot-licking.

Oh dear

Tim Sherwood has gone sour at his former bosses

Gives a pretty frank assessment of Daniel Levy and the playing group. Actually makes some good points but probably went about some things the wrong way.

Sherwood opens up on Spurs reign

Tim Sherwood has given his thoughts on his Tottenham exit, the sale of Gareth Bale and the roles of Daniel Levy and Franco Baldini at the club.

Tim Sherwood declared forthright views on a number of Tottenham topics onGoals on Sunday - and said he wouldn't have taken the managerial role if he knew he'd be sacked just five months later.
Sums up the sale of Gareth pretty well really too

He's top drawer. He's a game changer, not just a good player. We've had fantastic players in Luka Modric, who is a good linker but Bale changes games.
A pretty good read and a pretty frank assessment that you may agree with also

Pochettino rated 1.1 (90%) to be our next manager, so it's gonna be him.

He's proven himself in the Premier League & certainly plays the type of football that would suit out team. Hiring him could also be a big boost for Erik Lamela's chances of making it here, because I can easily see him rating Lamela over Lennon.

With that said, I still have somewhat mixed feelings. I don't think he brought sexy fútbol to Southampton; they were already playing that attractive brand of football with Adkins in charge, and while the results improved under Pochettino, I get the feeling they would've improved even if they didn't sack Adkins.

I'm also somewhat concerned about how we'll operate defensively under Pochettino. Southampton's defensive record isn't been very impressive and right now, we need tightening up at the back badly.

Really happy with Poch announcement, hopefully there's a big emphasis on developing our own talent!

Have to give him time with a few signings and an improved squad work ethic we will improve, but I'm not expecting Miracles from the man.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but after that didn't we appoint Harry Redknapp as manager, taking him from Portsmouth in 2008?
Yeah thats correct.

Last time we did business with Southampton we got G.Bale lets hope for something similar when we snare their managers!

Good luck. Saints have already offered him to us for 30m. We aren't interested at that price. 20-22m max. Have you got any Bale money left over or has it all been spent?
Bale and Modric winning the CL reportedly landed us another £15m and Poch is set to be given £30+player sales to spend. Dont think we would bid anywhere above £25m for Lallana and can only see him coming if Paulinho/Dembele are sold

What ever happend to the Modric money? Did we ever spend that. If not I hope it will go towards funding the new stadium, which is how I wish they used some of the Bale money.

No more midfielders for 25 million, throw it at Lukaku or some centrebacks.

How similar is Lallana to Lamela? (Name aside)

I wouldnt have a problem with selling Dembele and one of either Sigurdsson or Hotby (Prefereably Hotby as Sigurrdsson is a danger in front of goals)

They keys this window are in this order:
1) keeping hold of Lloris
2) signing a LB
3) signing a CB
4) upgrading Adebayor

The rest will fall into place. Think our midfield with a manager with decent tactics is pretty well set but always like seeing some English talent in there. Townsend was linked to Southampton maybe he can be a part of a deal for Lallana or Ward-Prowse
