Daily Star saying we have no interest in Esteban Cambiasso, also various outlets reporting an interest in Veltman from Ajax and Schniederlin from South Hampton. As well as the odd fluff article linking us with Lukaku.

After throwing the toys out of the cot hope liverpool are happy with that classless prick Lovren, do not want, overpriced as is.
Would much rather Veltman for under £10m than go for Lovren. Think he'd be good enough to push Chiriches and Vertonghen next season

Good news, though I imagine there's a release clause inserted in there.

The end of the world cup can't come soon enough; need to start selling some players asap.

There were games last season where you just couldn't help but feel sorry for Lloris, with the lack of defensive support at times. Hope he can experience better results whilst at spurs from now on

Very happy with the contract for Hugo! Hopefully shows prospective signings that a player of his standing is wanting to commit long term and is happy with the direction we will be heading.

Liverpool and us in a battle for one of the following LB's Rodriguez, Moreno & Davies. Surely we'll land one of the 3.

Rodriguez for about £15m is the preference. Moreno Sevilla are talking as much as £20m for but he'd be the second option with Davies for £8-10m the fall back

Daily Express saying talk with schneiderlin at an adavanced stage, would be a nice aqcuisition, don't think we will be doing too much. Poch still has to get to know the squad and I don't think we need a massive overhaul, just fill a few holes.

Probably an upgrade on both Capoue and Sandro and you'd imagine one of them would have to be sold

Stadium plans get given the green light

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-tottenham-hotspur-stadium-scheme-gets-the-green-light

Permission granted to use a site for the new stadium scheme following a public inquiry.

Plans for a new Tottenham Hotspur Football Club stadium jumped ahead today (11 July 2014) after permission was given to use a site earmarked for the stadium scheme.

Ministers have agreed with a compulsory purchase order made by the London Borough of Haringey, which will enable the Northumberland Development Project to continue to proceed.

good news!!

Straight swap for Kyle Naughton?

The Times reporting we were/are chasing Ben Davies & Michael Worm as part of a straight swap for Gylfi and Kyle Naughton. Wouldn't be that bad a deal but Swansea rebuffed.

At least we are trying to be proactive during trade period and not wait till deadline day

Furthermore, I think with JV returning from an exceptional WC, we can all see his worth to us and our long term success at CB.

Sell Dawson, keep JV, seek a LB that jd2010 mentioned, get Lamela and extended run on the pitch ad hopefully pick up a real goal scorer and we could hopefully see us click into a top 4 spot next season. (we can only hope, right? :D)

Yeah I don't see us making too many signings to be honest. 1 CB, 1 LB and a striker. Think Poch will try and asses what we have already got and go from there. Got a real good feeling for Lamela this season. Posting a lot of tweets and pictures socialising with team mates and being positive about Spurs which is great news!

If some pre-season photos are anything to go by a second chance may be given to former Juve/Barca youth player Iago Falque who had a decent season with Rayo Vallecano. Another former Barca youth player who seems to be getting involved is Cristian Ceballos who spent the season playing in the Portuguese top division

Brad Davies and Michel Vorm will become Spurs players very soon imo.

Didn't see Vorm coming but Brad has taken up a coaching role at the Academy so he is pretty good back up and will play the Cups.

We aren't looking at any strikers atm, as Poch wants to rebuild from the back, so only expect a CB, CM (Schniederlin) and a LW/F this window but Yahaya is a good acquisition but at 17 wont be near the senior squad for at least 18 months.

I think you're getting Brad Friedel & Ben Davies mixed up. Friedel's our 44 year old keeper adopting a coaching role, whereas Ben Davies is a 20 year old Swansea left-back.

Not too concerned about acquisitions because I still rate this squad. Just makes the summer window more boring.

So many of our signings from last season, didn't have great seasons yet we weren't far off top 4. Suggests there is a lot of upside still left in the squad, just need to get the existing squad to play better and strengthen in a couple of areas, rather than an overhaul. Agree with the bolded part

Makes no sense why we are getting Vorm. We have the France national captain as #1, the premier leagues most capped GK as #2 and a highly rated youth international as #3. Waste of what little funds we do have I think. The only reasoning I can see is that Lloris' new contract has a release clause if we dont make CL and we don't want to have to look for a GK when he goes next summer

Transfer action starting to heat up apparently.

Franco Baldini's in Italy attempting to finalize the Sandro>Napoli move whilst also trying to sign Roma Striker, Mattia Destro.

Ben Davies & Michel Vorm for $$$ + Sigurdsson is on the brink.

We're still trying to sign Schneiderlin, who apparently prefers us over Woolwich.

We (& Monaco) have had a €20m bid for Antoine Griezmann rejected as Real Sociadad want his €32m release clause match. No indication has been given to which club he prefers.

Depay/Griezmann

All well and good signings but we still need a striker!! And a centre back if we sell Dawson and Kaboul
