BigFooty's Top 50 Book List

Remove this Banner Ad

And so it begins.... The BigFooty Top 50 Book List countdown!

Thank you to everyone that took the time to compile their lists and vote, the response was tremendous and this couldn't have been done without you. Hope you had as much fun compiling your lists as I did compiling your votes! :)

Just to reiterate how it worked, people submitted a list of 10-20 books or series with their favourite getting 20 points and votes decrementing by one for each book that followed. These votes were then totalled to find out BigFooty's favourite books! In the case of a tie breaker, the book that appeared on more lists will win. If still tied, the books will be ranked by their highest individual score. If still tied, they will appear in the same position in the list.

I will be counting down the books over the next two weeks to try to create some suspense/excitement for everyone :) The number 1 position will be announced next Friday 13th February.

Overall, 54 different posters took part in the countdown. 579 individual books received at least one vote and there were 428 individual authors to receive votes. A hugely varied list!

Thanks again for your participation!

I don't want to spoil the countdown but just thought I'd inform interested posters that the author of "To Kill A Mockingbird", Harper Lee, is publishing her second ever novel, to be released on July 14th.

'American author Harper Lee is to publish a second novel, more than half a century after the release of her much-loved classic "To Kill a Mockingbird," HarperCollins announced Tuesday.

"Go Set a Watchman" was written in the 1950s and features many of the same characters as "Mockingbird." It was rediscovered last year and will be released on July 14, the publishing house said.'

Interestingly, she started writing it before To Kill A Mockingbird and it was the story of an adult Scout returning home to visit her father with flashbacks to stories of her growing up.

See you guys on Monday to kick off the Top 25! :)

Maybe i am being pedantic, but should MAgician have just been placed in with the Riftwar Saga and all of those counted as one Magician/Riftwar getting a total of 96 Votes. I always figured that authors like Hemingway and pratchett and Orwell would split their vote, but to actually lose votes to the series that the book is in seems... tricky.
