AFL Club
Carlton
If your talking of the VFL biggest clubs It would be Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon
But if your talking about the new era it would be West Coast, Geelong and Hawthorn
Who do you think the biggest clubs are ?

Biggest or successful ?
Cats play out of a cake tin in a rural city
Hawk sell/play home games out of their home state ave home crowd in 2019 was under 31k.
Clearly along with eagles they’re the most successful in the AFL not the biggest!
Tigers eagles pies are biggest.
I don't think tigers
When it comes to big you have to consider success and fan base
Tigers have only been successful in 5 of 20 years but have a big supporter base
Collingwood could be one of the biggest but Hawthorn have been successful with having 10 years and solid Membership numbers
I should put pies instead of geelong.

West Coast, Collingwood and Richmond
Could argue Sydney and Essendon there or there abouts.

Most overated club is clearly Carlton though. They'd be lucky to even be in the top 8. (Definitely 7 bigger clubs)

Gold Coast.

Have you seen Stuart Dew lately?

1. The Giants, obviously
According to their song, they're the biggest and the best.... and greater than the rest.

2. The Eagles. They're the big birds. Kings of the big game.

3. Geelong, the "greatest team of all".

What about "the admiration of a nation'?
They sound massive.
Entire country looks at them for inspiration.

First three are right, bolded is not. Hawks sell games to Tassie and don't draw. Essendon are a fair way ahead.

Depends what the measure is.

If it is success, Hawthorn are obviously there.
If it is money/assets, then Hawthorn are there too.
If it is memberships, then Hawthorn are there too as they've been top 2 or top 4 more often than not.
If you are talking attendance, then Hawthorn are probably not there.

For me, biggest club would probably be a combination of those things which would still put Hawthorn there.

If the questions 'who has the most supporters or the highest attendances' then Hawthorn isn't in that group but I would also think 'who cares' as that has much less bearing on the club or you as a supporter than the other things.

Thats all untrue though given The Swans will go in and win overall, and thats despite Collingwood thinking the premierships a cakewalk.

In this century, when you take into consideration success, finances, members, culture, etc...
The biggest 4 for Victoria would have to be Collingwood, Tigers, Hawks and Geelong.

The traditional big 4 clubs (Pies, Tigers, Dons, Blues) hasn't been a factor over the last 20 years.
The Dons look to be building back to power slowly but don't see the Blues being in that equation
for a long time yet.

Interstate clubs would probably be Eagles, Swans and Crows in that order.
