Movie Biggest Drop-Off in Quality between a movie and its sequel

Fair enough, i just wanted an excuse to post the JJ laughing gif, no malice intended :D

I was 8 when the original came out. The first two movies are great (i have not watched them for a few years, so perhaps my taste has changed... i should still get a slight chuckle from them). I sat through Home Alone 3 a few years ago and it was just wrong on many levels. I dread to think what would happen if they do a remake or attempt another sequel.

Well I think the target market for these films is certainly children (although the first Home Alone is a great family film and Christmas film).

I was too young to see the original when it came out, and was about 9 when 3 came out.

Speed - Speed 2
Under Siege - Under Siege 2
48 HRS - Another 48 HRS
Mission Impossible (Tom Cruise) - Mission Impossible 2 (I enjoyed the third one, haven't watched the 4th)
Beverly Hills Cop - Beverly Hills Cop 2
Porky's - the rest of them
Blazing Saddles - Lust In The Dust
all the Dirty Harry movies after Magnum Force weren't a patch on the first 2.

I like all the Terminator movies with 1 and 2 the obvious standouts, it's exciting to see they're doing another for release in '15.

The Omen - sequels

I actually saw the Under Siege films recently, and they are both solid genre films. I don't think there is any real drop off in quality.

Yep, the only issue with the 2nd was that the storyline was a bit more ridiculous (which considering the story of the 1st movie is an achievement in itself). But both were made to a similar standard.

Watched this for the first time in years and it was better than I remembered, obviously nowhere near Once Were Warriors as a film but still one worthwhile making imo.
Think the Sequal suffered from very poor acting/Casting apart from Temuera Morrison(Jake).
