One not mentioned so far Spalding on McKenna

beautiful clean hit.

But for sheer impact, the 'biggest' hit would have to be Voss on Richardson. Both players stopped dead but Richardson copped all the momentum. Anyone know how long he was out for/how he recovered?

A couple from my memory, is Ray Card vs Keith Grieg in 1978 at K.P, was a bone cruncher if ever there was one, and early in 1979 Stan Magro of Collingwood absolutely pole-axed Alex Jesaulenko. Back in the late 80's i think Dipierdomenico shirt-fronted Roger Ellingworth of Melbourne, and knocked him into next year i think.

Someone already did mention that hit on McKenna BTW :p

Voss's hit on Richardson is a Beauty, did he get anything for that?

Solomon on ling wasn't as good because it was just him elbowing him in the face as he jumped past

Meh I'm tired :p

Agree on Solomon vs Ling. A proper footy hit is two bodies colliding, not a stray elbow to the face.

Ray Card on Keith Grieg

Stan Magro on Alex Jesaulenko

We must have similar memory spans....:D

Lockett on Caven was a sickening blow, as was Jim Edmond being ironing out a Hawk i think back in the Bear's debut year...the scoreboard attendant rather mischievously flashing up 'Cop That' for his troubles. Edmond got 6 weeks i think for that one.

Russell Morris. Big elbow to the face.

Dipper had a big one on Alan Stoneham in 83, and then copped about a half dozen rippers himself at Windy Hill in the square up game later that year. Cameron Clayton sat him on his arse on at least two separate occasions that day, and I'm pretty sure Merv Neagle and Ron Andrews gave him one as well.

Speaking of Merv, I reckon he copped the nastiest hit I've seen in football, when he face planted into the top of the fence at Arden Street one afternoon. The aftermath was not a pretty sight.
