Simmonds was the biggest improver in 2006 to come out of Fremantle... and next year it could be Polak :D

Realistically I'd expect Polly to take another year before turning it on, he just didn't work hard enough on his fitness.

After really watching his style of play in 2006 I have seen a bit of Freo lately and they are probably my 2nd or 3rd team for next year :thumbsu:

Plus I always hated Medhurst so that's another reason I like Freo more and hate Collingwood more too lol

What other players that came out of Freo would have improved in 06? Simmonds was average from the start, so improvement was never going to be too difficult, but who are we comparing him against?

Simmonds can't be trusted in front of goal and he's an average ruckman. Polak can't be trusted in front of goals and he's and even worse ruckman. See a pattern developing. Polaks problem wasn't his fitness. He just can't play contested football.

IMO, keep him free in the backline where he can take lots of uncontested marks and feel good about himself. Should go well next to the Bowdens...they can all just kick it to each other.

BTW, I truly believe that Simmonds left because he knew that he couldn't displace Longmuir from the team and he could see Sandilands developing into the games best. That's also why Fremantle didn't want him hanging around for 4 years.
