**** off back to England if you don't like SA.Whinging pom.Anyway you're wrong. Not all South Aussies hate Victoria.Shane Warne comes from Victoria, and he is the awesomest aussie that ever lived. So i like Victoria. Some people there are ****wits, but show me a place on Earth that is ****wit free.True, some places have a much higher ****wit per capita ratio - England for example.

Can't really dispute that fact.

/thread.

NSW v Vic because it goes beyond sports. Sporting wise it would have to be NSW vs Qld. Vic vs SA is only really a rivalry for the SAers, most people here don't really care since SoO went bung. We have a rivalry with WA these days?

Whilst I agree that the SA Vic rivalry is heavily weighted on the SA side, many Victorians take an almost fanatical fervour in bagging anything that is South Australian, much more so than anyone else. Whether it is a defence mechanism to their inferiority complex to those north of their borders, I am unsure.

New South Welsh-people (or at least Sydney people) don't really have any rivalries.

As far as daily life goes they barely realise that there is life in other states.

A bit of rivalry in Rugby League against Queensland - but most of the rivalry comes the other way.

In Sport

QLD v NSW. Nothing beats it, Nothing.

Vics v Everyone Else

QLD v Everyone Else

Both Victoria and QLD seem to think we have the best states. It is clearly QLD but Victorian's are a stubborn bunch and while they know it's true never admit it.

We'd agree if it didn't have a) Ridiculous humidity - no civilised society has ever developed or survived in that type of climate b) Queenslanders and c) if it wasn't dark by 6.30 in summer.

That said it's quite nice from June to August.

it is true, though the ciy has a lot more internal rivalries than other cities due to geopgraphy ie Northern beaches/Hills District/The Shire/ Eastern Suburbs/ Inner West etc People are pretty quick to tell you where they come from or more particularly that they don't come from the West.

Very true. There is not really any such thing as "Sydney".

This is how I see it.

Vic's hate NSW (NSW doesn't care about VIC)
SA's hate VIC (VIC doesn't care about SA)
WA's hate everything that isn't WA (No-one cares)
QLDers dispise NSW (NSW hates them right back)

Therefore I think NSW v QLD is the biggest rivalry, sport or no sport, there's genuine hatred that runs both ways.

South Australians (coming from England means I'm not one, thankfully) have an irrational hatred of all things Victorian. Massive inferiority complex.

This is a bit of a myth. And it's mostly those who's radio is tuned permanently to 5AA who seem to perpetuate it.

I'll agree that SA can be overly parochial, excessively at times, but no more so than Victorians or anyone else.

Oh really? Have a closer read of Big Footy. Barely a day goes by when at least one anti-Adelaide thread isn't started by some idiot.

I love how South Australians think they're part of some massive interstate rivalry with Victoria or anyone. I've heard Victorians say they don't give a shit about South Australia and every other state doesn't really shit a shit about them either.

I'd rather live in Tasmania/NT than SA.

Thanks for sharing. :thumbsu:

Generally right l reckon.

Nope - that's bs. Take a look at the NRL grand final last year. The whole state got behind Manly (one of the most hated NSW based teams) against Melbourne. Does that sound like a state that doesn't give a shit about Victoria? Sounds like a state that hates Victoria to me.

It would be like all of Victoria getting behind Collingwood in a GF against an interstate team (no chance).
