Sam Jude playing for Border Districts in the KNTFL kicked 23 goals against Kaniva in 1995.
Don't know whether or not it goes in SA or Vic because it was in a SA based league playing for a team made up of towns either side of the border, versus a team in Victoria.
Interestingly, Ritchie Oliver playing in the B grade game kicked 17 I think, to get the club record, but only had it for about two hours until Sam kicked 23. Very short lived club record!!

Interestingly, Ritchie Oliver playing in the B grade game kicked 17 I think, to get the club record, but only had it for about two hours until Sam kicked 23. Very short lived club record!!

Border Districts is a team originally made up from Frances and the great little town of Minimay (pop 9). I think games at Minimay stopped in the early 1980's.
In 1998, Goroke went into recess from the Horsham District League, but all their players went to Borders to play. In 1999 the two teams officially merged but are still called Border Districts. Made the GF that year but went down to Mundulla.

i don't know if they have a record of this, but i think Darren Vickery kicked well in excess of 20 goals against coorparoo in a practise match at Morningside in the late 80s, the score was something liike 350 to nill

Vickery kicked well over a hundred on a couple of occasions, i don't know where to go to find this info though, just relying on memory

I actually played in this game albeit on WCs forward line (so its not my fault), from memory and believe me i have tried to forget Angelis was recruited from a VFA club and possibly was a fly in player.

The ACTAFL was and still is a pretty strong comp with Ainslie having plenty of poker machine moolah to pay good money.

The wheel has turned as it always does with WC now known as Belconnen winning the flag last year and sitting on top ATM, ahead of the Swans reserves.

At that particular time WC was a huge junior club and the entire team was made up of 18, 19 and 20 year olds so blow outs were going to happen (this was a big one though).

BTW Angelis probably could have made it in the then VFL anyone know what happened to him.

I'd assume the "a" and "b" references were number of games in "A grade" and "B grade".
