His speed of the mark is good enough but not elite in the AFL. No one has ever questioned his ability to run out a game, when fully fit. He did get run down a bit this year, mainly due to the fact he was unable to do a lot of sprint work in the pre season. He is smart, strong footballer who makes decisions and has reliable skills.
and was worth Pick #11.

Luke Livingston at #4
Harsh.

McAllister didn't play 46 games.

Livingston was an AA junior KPP who was roasted like Dawson on guns in his first season.

Livo had a heap of injuries (and a life threatening bowel disorder) and lost his pace after a bad back injury.

The recruiters loved Nick Dal Santo but was over rided by the coach who wanted the best and toughest CHF and we picked up Luke Molan.

Might need another freo supporter to verify/critique the facts..

But I believe we used a top 10 draft pick on a player (Jay Burton?) who was delisted before the season started...

Not sure how that can be beaten.

What happened there?

What was his story?

I think you may be thinking of Ben Edwards, whom we took at #7 in the 1995 ND. Jay Burton (who managed a massive 2 games) was taken later in that draft (in the 20's).

Ben Edwards was delisted a few months after the draft, having never played a game, upon succumbing to an injury he took into the draft.

We can lock this thread now, Freo win!

Ben Edwards(from Claremont..surprise surprise) at pick 7. Delisted in the off-season. Injury plagued...but Freo knew that before they drafted him. Silly gamble for a 1st rounder.

Jay Burton (Spiders bro) was picked up the same year at pick 23...played 2 games the following season and was delisted..pretty sure he had on-going knee problems though. Saw him a few times (thru work) and he always had a knee brace on.

The concept of a hypothetical is a little complex for you isnt it?

It wasn't brought up as a hypothetical. What you posted was: "Wouldnt make the top 10 but Carlton offering up pick 11 for McLean when Ball was available for pick 33 a week later is pretty funny"; in a thread about the biggest trading/drafting stuff-ups in AFL history. That talks about a state of genuine reality, no matter how much you want to back-peddle now you've been called to account :o

Get over it. :p

Read: I know I'm a flog who shot my mouth off without thinking it through. Please ignore it... if only for my sake; coz damned if I'm ever going to admit it. I would rather I maintain some delusional air of superior intelligence despite the obviousness of its inability to wade even ankle deep in a pool of thought.

Steven McKee for Clinton King and pick 3 in the 1999 draft.

We all know who went at 4 to Fremantle. Could have got Pavlich, would have been handy in 2002 and 2003

Every time I see this I just think to myself WTF were we doing...

Pavlich would of been awesome up forward for us in 2002/2003 with a fit Rocca and Tazza could of been the 3rd string forward which would of really suited him

DAMN!

Pity a 3rd string defender on Pav. I think 15mins into the first 1/4 he'd attract the first string defender. That would be a nasty fwd line to deal with thats for sure.

Freo and Richmond have to be the worst two clubs with some big misses in the draft

Richmond win picking JON at all, let alone at pick 8

END THREAD!

Are you still going??

Are you still going??

Why not? You've made a series of totally dumbass comments which you've been called on to explain. Yet all you've offered is childish taunts and insults - one of which you've been carded for - and maintain you somehow you have an insight far too complex for others comprehension despite it having been utterly torn to pieces by a couple of posters.

You've obviously got some hang up about McLean ditching your club; but please, take it to Bay 13 if this is all you have to contribute.

Ive explained perfectly and everyone can read back and see that you are too dumb to understand and too boring to give it a rest.

Yeah for sure... although I meant Tarrant would get the 3rd string defender.
People forget how good Rocca was for us in this 2 year period and Tarrant was AA in one of these years so any one of these 3 on a 3rd string defender would cause havoc.
mmm.... oh well dont want to think about it anymore lol

Maybe freo should get Rocca out of retirement and play the 3 of them up forward now... prob a few years too late hahaha

You've explained nothing... Carlton could neither have traded for Ball with pick 27, as you originally suggested, and it's looking increasingly likely he will be gone before that pick in the draft.

But wait... allow me to pre empt your response. I'm just too dumb to comprehend your brilliance right
