Well that was unexpected.

His 2016 season was a year of football a great many players would kill to have, and his 2nd, 3rd, 4th and fifth effort in the Grand Final leading to a Picken goal is one of the most iconic and inspirational acts which typified our premiership year.

Good luck with whatever path you choose Shiggsy, and thank your for your part in making history.

NEVER FORGET!

Quickly intruding to pay respects to the legend that is Biggsy, one of my favourite players in the AFL simply for his off-kilter personality and unexplainable banter with Libba, Redpath and co. I have no doubt that he now looks forward to semi-regular Revs sessions and relaxing on weekdays while the sun glints off his premiership medal. Go well, Shane

The oddness of his football career only matched by his social media profile and love of jack redpath memes.

But he’s a hero and his name will always be in gold on his locker at whitten oval

Do we know if there was any particular reason he never really got back to his 2016 form? He was soo good for such a short period of time I would have assumed such a Herculean drop off would have a corresponding reason for it such as persistent injury or something?

Thanks for the memories, Shane! A true Bulldogs premiership hero, a shooting star who shone brightest at the biggsest of moments. Look forward to the continued excellence in the field of comedy. Shane Biggs, we truly will never forget. A legend forever.

Beautifully written.

Could be the next captain of Gold Coast and what happened to the Carlton rumours ?

Shane Biggs what happens to Keith now ?

Retirement = Getting in first, it will be BTC next.

Our thoughts and prayers go to scrag in these dark times.

Same for fletch or roughie. Bev just got a whole lot out of some players who had been otherwise decidedly average, and they regressed to the mean after those finals.

Never forget.

A bullgod for eternity. Thank god we have Gowers to adequately fulfill the 'best instagram account' mantle.
