Clear cut self defence. He was an extreme version of the usual clown that provokes trouble with bikers and gets in waaaay over their heads as a result.

Meredith Hunter went to the concert with a gun BUT with no ammo. A few people have said this already, including his sister who begged him not to go and his then white GF. He left the gun in the car and was enjoying the day but went back to the car to get an unloaded gun after having to put up with the HA all afternoon. They made life bad for him that afternoon (witnesses have said so) and at one point they taunted his white GF.

If anything Meredith waved it around as self defence, in hindsight a stupid thing to do.

I mean they stabbed him what 28 times? Then kicked him a dozon times and then left him to die? His last words were:

"I didnt want to kill you"

The HA then grabbed his gun after they killed him and loaded it up and handed it to the cops saying it was loaded.

A mix of speed, frustration and heat caused him to wave the gun at the bikies who at that point where so pissed and most were on acid they basically did what they wanted. One of them earlier threw a beer bottle at a pregnant girl and cracked her skull. Another one knocked out jefferson airplanes lead singer for no reason.

Sure you don't go to a concert with a gun but what do you say about the HA who had ****en knives on them? Or how about that they had sawn off pool cues and were beating into people with them? Oh yeah those scummy hippies deserved the beat down! What about the guy who was tossed around like a rag doll and who was unconscious..but the HA thought it would be funny to have him as their play thing? There is footage of one HA grabing him and just dumping him on his head.

Yeah those HA were just acting out of self defence as always!

Two incidents I have seen/know of involving bikies.

First was at a pub I use to work at, a bloke had a broken glass shoved in his eye socket because the bikie thought he owed him money, turns out was a case of mistaken identity and the bikie was too pissed to realise it. The victim ended up losing the sight in that eye. To this day there's blood on the limestone work outside where I sat with the dude holding a huge wad of paper towels to the guys face trying to stem the bleeding.

Second involved a friend who got mixed up with them due to being a dock worker. Use to have beers with some of them not realizing they were members, ended up at a club party and chatting with the Prez.

A week later he is visited at his home by said President and a couple of his goons (He hadn't given out his address but they had no trouble getting it) and they asked him to do some work for them, debt collection and whatnot. Upon refusal they left rather calmly and my mate thought that was the end of it.

A week later he gets home from work and two of the blokes that came round the first time were sitting in his kitchen, having a cup of tea with his mum. They just got up and left wishing them both a 'safe' evening. My mate was shitting himself, even considered doing the job for them but I talked him out of it knowing the moment he did that there was no way out for the guy. Luckily one of the guys he worked with knew the lawyer who did all the legal work for said club, and arranged for my mate to meet with him. Turns out he was mates with one of my friends Uncles and went to the club and told the President he'd stop doing legal work for him if they didn't stop harassing my mate.

My friend still ended up having to pay three grand to the scum to cover the debt of the money that was owed to them by this other guy.

HTB, seriously grow up and stop romantising bikies just because you have a childish fascination with outlaws. On the whole, the reason people align themselves with a gang, is because they are thugs and want to terrorise people on the basis that they have numbers behind them.

I dunno. Bikies are rough guys, no doubt, and I'm not saying they are never involved in altercations with ordinary people. Just from what I hear, it's extremely rare.

The thing about organised crime is... well, it's organised. There's no profit in random violence, it just brings the police down on you. Members of criminal syndicates who commit crimes for non-business reasons tend to have the organisation come down on them hard - if not for any moral reason, simply because it's bad for business.

I'm not defending any bikie gangs here but your defense of Hunter is pretty weak. How were they to know the gun wasn't loaded? If some lunatic is waving around a gun you assume that they mean harm. As for his last words, no sympathy from me. If you don't want to kill me then there's better ways to show it such as not bringing a deadly weapon to a public event.

I'm not saying what he did was the right thing but theres a reason why he went back to the car and got his gun. He told people the reasons why he had a gun that day and it was not loaded. Bad judgement yes..just as bad as the rolling stones and the organisers thinking that hiring the HA was a good idea.

Also 28 times and constant kicking until his died was justified?

Anyway the guy who stabbed him got his own back found in 1985 floating in a river with 10k on him which was the amount Hunters mother was paid in an out of court settlement.

Going back many years my cricket club had a post premiership mad monday at a sponsor's pub. We were all decked out in our club polo shirts which prominently featured said sponsor. Little did we know that the prior evening a Rebel had been refused entry on the basis he was wearing his colours. Lunch time on Monday 20 of them storm the Pub and proceed to trash everything and beat the living crap out of anyone wearing Pub's logo, including us innocent cricketers.

Obviously not aware about the **** Machine bikie who threw a civvie through a glass window at the OBH a few years ago resulting in his death.

Also the guy who lost his shit in Melbourne a few years back and shot a few people who tried to stop him beating his gf also had links to bike gangs.

Yeah what gets me though is the amount of hero ****wits who go looking for for fights last time I went along on a charity ride from Melbourne to Sydney the amount of clowns that were goading people etc trying to start something was off putting.

Thankfully I didn't cop shit as I've never been a fan of leathers but anyone in them suddenly became a target. We were were all warned before going if you can't hack some pretty bad sledging not to go as everyone will cop shit for your response, it was made clear we couldn't even tell someone to **** off as they would use that to start swinging.

So the guys copping it usually waited till we pulled out then flipped the bird at all those hulked up hero burger eating w***ers.

Sad part is there wasn't a single member of a bikie gang represented the biggest criminal I talked to on that ride was a banker who was doing community service for some white collar crime, real badass ombré's that lot.

There was also another biker that was dealt with over inappropriate conduct with a minor.

Very severely.

Far more severely than the catholic church seem to handle these matters.

They used an angle grinder .
