Too easy.

Campbell Brown was in front of Ward and threw his elbow back in a checking motion, unfortunately it got the head instead of the body. No evidence that it was an intentional strike.

Selwood was facing Brown when he hit him. Could only be intentional.

He intentionaly threw his elbow back. Striking doesn't have to be to the head.

As for Selwood facing Brown, where's the roof?

Yes it does, players throw elbows back every week . . .

As for Selwood facing Brown, where's the roof?

Selwood himself claims that contact is intentional, so that's not even up for contention. He claims in his mind that he tried to push rather than strike, which would make it a reckless act rather than intentional. The tribunal has to decide what his motive was by looking at the evidence available, and it looks like they chose correctly.

Rings a bell... Remind me what that was about?

Dunstall and Brownless were panelists on TFS (can't remember what year - they were both still playing)
Hawthorn had been beaten by Brisbane at the GABBA the previous weekend. They'd had a huge 3/4 time lead, but it was really hot, so they moved their huddle to the shade.
Apparently (I'm pretty sure it was Robert Walls coaching Bris at the time) Walls pointed out to the Brisbane players that Hawthorn were hot and tired, so Bris could run over the top of them.
This was put to Dunstall, saying Hawthorn shouldn't have given Brisbane that sort of mental advantage, and he got really cut.
Billy then said, "Sooky sooky la la!" Everyone lost it, and it stuck for ages!

Dunno about that.
Having things in common often builds understanding between the generations.

Yeah, I guess so.
I wonder how the hell the Blues are coping then..?

About 6 minutes in mate. Just comical.

Yep, quite humiliating for Geelong supporters with all this carrying on. :o:thumbsd:

One word for Bill's performance last night... embaressing.

I think his bottom lip was starting to quiver.

Was it as embarrassing as misspelling embarrassing as badly as you have here?

A strike doesn't have to be to the head. Remember when Barry Hall struck Maguire in the guts and was reported? He got off on some bollocks, but it was a strike.

I'll take your futue lack of response as an apology.

Selwood claims it was intentional, but tried to get it changed to reckless? Well that was never going to work, was it. And how are claims in his mind going to help anything, he needs to claim them out loud, so people can hear.

Yup, but strikes to the arm won't be reported, hence Brown's strike to the head was deemed reckless rather than intentional.

Eh no, he claims he tried to make contact, and that was intentional in the common sense of the word, but he didn't mean for it to be a blow to the head, which would make it reckless. The tribunal didn't purchase that one, however.

Chris Judd throws his elbow back, hits Pavlich in the cheek and splits it open. All this is caught on camera, yet Judd gets off.

Footage is shown of a scuffle between a Hawthorn and Geelong player who we're led to believe is Selwood (looking at the footage though, can anyone tell for sure that it was Selwood?), no contact is clearly seen, but the Hawks player goes down with an injury. Selwood then gets four weeks.

Explain to me how that's fair.

Brownless looked like a big softy last night on the footy show.

I like Joel Selwood and even Geelong as far as vic teams go, but Selwood was dirty with that hit and deserved what he got.

Get over it

Gotcha! Thanks for that. Dunstall cracked the shits, big time over that one... kind of funny. Good memory. :thumbsu:

Exactly.

There have been worse suspensions than Selwood's suspension, like Trengove and Baker, but Billy didn't say jack shit then. Then as soon as one of his precious Geelong players gets a suspension which he probably deserved then he screams blue murder.

If it doesn't involve Geelong, Bill has no idea. It is a mystery how that oaf has maintained a job in the media all these years. He contributes absolutely nothing except sit there pulling faces and looking stupid.

I was told today he said something like "Selwood told me what happened .. and I believe him!!!". Well, really Bill, what a surprise.

Not having a go, but it's probably the same way Ayresy, Tucky, Dermie, Dipper and co look at the current crop of Hawkers.

none of them have shot their load in an embarrasing, subjective, one eyed, 6 minute rant like thursday nights career destroyer. it was just...thank god for the fat dance..that saved him.

I'm aware of that genius, but if you're imbecilic enough to believe that in that split second, Joel Selwood thought to cup his hand, and lightly tap Brent Guerra on the ear, and Guerra decided he would act, fall down, stay down, and miss a week of football to keep the act up, then you should have your account deleted from BigFooty because you shouldn't be posting.

Or breeding.

I think he is calling you stupid Doris.
