Jonny noble looked like a disaster when he first started , he’s gained confidence and cemented his spot.
?
Noble had 18 disposals on debut and hasn’t really ever looked out of place. He was definitely on the lower end of the 22 for his first couple of years, but disaster? No way.

Disaster is a strong word. He was a head sctratcher at times with his decision making. My point is he’s improved immensely. Much the same as Toovey did

Roughead was fairly average first few games for us until he settled in
Roughy was a workhorse, but he was not an elite backmen. We seem to overate him and Dunn a bit. Both played their parts and were bargain pick ups. I’m hoping billy can be the same with time. I actually think billy has better footskills than both. Today he was a bit flustered as expected

It looks like he lacks a bit of self belief still. I hope he gets a good block of games so that he finally feels like he belongs in the AFL
He mentioned getting on famously with Moore, Maynard and other defenders. Once his confidence is up he will be a handy player.

He is also freaked out by Nick. Says even at training he continues to blow his mind. Got shivers up his spine watching his goals.

Seems a good kid.

As a few have mentioned I thought he got better as the game wore on. Yes, he looked a bit unsure early but by the end of the game he was switching play, hitting targets and making fast play on decisions. He will get better every week; he has a great backline around him, and they support each other really well. I think he'll play a big part in our flag assault as he can take a gorilla and hold his own pretty well. Dixon did ragdoll him a couple of times (he may have been off-balance, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt), but he squared up the contests pretty well by the end. Good game.

Was solid. Clearly a bit nervous at first, but definitely worked himself into the game as it went on. Will be better for the run, and will have a decent run of games to find his feet and build confidence.
Upwards from here.

I don't recall that.
Also, please be a bit respectful.
If you're going to mention him then at least give him the respect of using his name properly.
It's Jonny f***ing Noble.

You don't refer to Will Hoskin-Elliot as Will Elliot do you? So please afford Jonny F***ing Noble the same respect.

He played better as the game went on. At first, I think he was out of the loop of AFL. Gave away that 50m penalty which may have slid in the SANFL. But he was fine as the team picked up confidence. Looked good towards the end. He's not perfect but I felt he played a better match than Murphy. Frampton isn't on a big contract at all and I'm excited to see what he can offer for the remainder of Howe's injury and beyond. It's a competition between him and Murph to see who'll be in the side when Howe returns. I don't think it's simply a case of drop him if Frampton is performing better than Murphy.

Having re-watched the replay, I feel comfortable saying that after Port’s first two goals, Frampton was quite good, and stuck very close to his man while providing a bit of rebound, and generally looking pretty self-assured.

If he can play on Dixon without getting exposed, that bodes pretty well, and aside from the unfortunate 50m while backtracking when he should have stood, there probably wasn’t a lot he could have done to stop Dixon’s second goal anyway.

Billy did look a little 'at sea' for the first quarter. He did mention in a post-match interview that Bruz, Darcy and Murph gave him plenty of direction on field which would have helped. He appeared somewhat overwhelmed for a bit but came into his own in the second half and he will be much better for the run.
This week against Richmond will be another teat for Billy but I feel he will perform okay and grow into a solid defender.

Thought he was bloody good tonight and played exactly the role we acquired him for. I await the flames from those who watched on TV, but at the ground I thought he played a pearler of a game.

Watched on TV, thought he was rock solid. Had Lynch in his pocket
