I reckon he could pinch hit up forward as well. Good mark and kick and has kicked bags in the past in SANFL. Something to think about when Cameron returns or if he's not needed in defence. Couldn't do worse than McStay has done.

I can't believe the comments about Frampton not being in best 22? He has been huge for us in our time of need and before the ruck issues was developing at an exponential rate in the backline. Who would not have him in our best side? He's in mine...
It'd be a tight squeeze if we had all of Cameron, Howe and McStay fit.

I think he is too versatile to be dropped, he is showing his value to the team rucking kicking goals and doing a good job down back. It is great to see a maligned player playing like he is and sticking it up the doubters without actually doing so, he is a good kick for goal and a fine field kick and he can take a grab.

The club did the work to get him across and it is paying great dividends, until his form drops or god forbid injury he is in my 22 every week.

He might actually be the best ruckman on the list
Yup, I really wonder if he is a better ruck than Cameron? His taps seem better directed.

OTOH, I’m still sceptical about Billy the KPD, we haven’t seem enough of him in that role. But That one on one he lost at the punt road end wasn’t good…

He got coaches votes against Lynch.

Personally, in terms of defence, I think it'd be a tough one if everyone was fit. There are a couple of teams I'd like him to play KPD against - but against most teams, I'd prefer the more mobile defence.

I did say he was the best ruck option. Great utility, just wonder whether he will be good enough to lock down a role when things settle.
I think he does. He has height and is starting to back himself in. Maybe his issue was the fact he had a low games career over eight years and felt a bit dejected.

stats this year
Cameron ......Get Hit out 45% to adv 35%
Cox ............Gets Hit Out 54% to adv 35%
Frampton .....Gets hit out 44% to adv 21%

Unfortunately the import stats of cleaner wins / clearance losses for each ruck isnt available as far as I can find. It's one thing to hit to to advantage but who ends up clearing the contest, and how often does the opposing side clear from your ruck. I head some one on radio say Frampton did really clearance wins against or some such (yeah vague recollection, I guy told me in pub standard so needs verification). Frampton nay also be benefiting from an Collingwood clearance system continuing to improve as the mids work the system, they has been a massive improvement this year and just not about who is rucking.

We’ll need him for McKay against the Navy Poos for starters

Liked him from day 1 and his confidence in a team like Collingwood can only make him an even better player long term. He is more than holding his own in the ruck so much so he is beating seasoned ruckman comfortably

Great options for us and gives Steene more time to develop along with our 7ft rookie.

What struck me the last 2 weeks but especially yesterday was how good Frampton is at the actual ruck craft.

His hit outs and making space around the stoppage is excellent, I dare say he is a much better option than Cameron although Cameron gives a bit more around the ground.
Its a pretty good problem to have to be honest.

Amen to that - was it only a little over 18 months ago we were "a club denuded of talent and direction"???

Well according to the troglodytes in the media we were.

They never learn - not only is a week a long time in footy but a quarter can seem like forever.

no idea why he didn't spoil the ball in that contest
