Why would Wright, fly and leppa etc be interested in him if that was the plan? I understand the reservations, but maybe give him a chance. I’d suggest those 3 are better judges of defensive talent than us. His sanfl form has been A grade. And our backup for Moore is Kelly or dean, (both injury prone players )atm.

3 years? i dont understand this. He wasnt getting a game. I understand that players operate well - mostly - when the contract gives them time to settle in, but i dont understand how we are offering things to outside players coming in, when there are players on the list without that level of certainty....

To backend a contract there needs to be years.

Just like Lipinski, Cameron, Roughead, Dunn, Mihocek when we plucked him from the VFL, etc

This could be a shrewd pickup. Can play forward, back or ruck, and at 201cm, is going to give us a big body, wherever he plays.
His 6 AFL games this year, looks like he was more than contributing, with a standout game against the Dogs. Interesting how he couldn't get more games with the Crows this year, but happy to have him in Black and white..

To backend a contract there needs to be years.

He was out of contract at the end of 2022... if you're paying a bloke minimum wage, it's the same wage every year unless the players contract increases it...and by inference, I would argue that he should be happy to play for min wages...

as i wrote earlier, nice to give a player a warm comfy bed, but for much of the rest of the pie list, there's a lot of uncertainty. I heard graham wright speaking about will kelly playing next year, I have no idea why, but evidently he will be. Hopefully he is another playing for min wages. I wouldnt give him 3 years though

I think his key advantage is a big man who is truly versatile and can cover a number of positions.

A tall utility who is competent in a number of roles is always a good pickup.
