Sliding doors moment. You have to wonder where we would be if Reef didn’t do his knee in round 2.

The club was preferring him in his maiden season as a defender, over Billy.

We’ll never know. I just find it hard to imagine our season would have gone any better. In fact Billy missed rounds 16-21

Round 16 we beat West Coast but didn’t play well.
Round 17 beat Carlton
Then we lost round 18 and 19
Beat Richmond round 20
Lost to Brisbane round 21 and I’ll never understand why Billy played in the VFL and not on Logan Morris!!

I reckon it would have been handy to have reef this year with the injuries to Howe. It would have been interesting if we had both

I think he would have played all games and Billy would have come in instead of Charlie Dean.
That would have been better. But Billy being a main defender is best for Moore.

I wonder what the future will be for Reef. I would think we stick with Billy Frampton now but play Reef as a medium defender like Howe. Howe is playing on next season but likely misses several games.

I feel like Reef will be depth instead of best 23.

We had lost the plot. Reef would be f***ing massacred against thilthorpe or any other forward around 200cms.

Yep I think it forced a move that should always have been the case. Billy higher in the pecking order. Reef a third defender like Howe. And depth. Which as per my previous post, is where I see him next year.

I think Billy would have probably played ahead of Reef as well. I imagine there won't be too much pressure on Reef next year with Howe and Frampton still there. Probably better for his knee if he's eased into the season

I wonder if at some point we would have seen Frampton selected over reef anyway. I was surprised we played the first 3 games with him over Bill. But I am a massive Billy fan!

Agreed 100%. Reef will have TJ for competion there, who i'd love to see get games next year!

I never understood the preference for Reef over Billly early in the year. I think Frampton (like Coxy) has been underutilized and underrated by the club.
