BBB might be the club looney, with his crazy conspiracy theories, but you gotta love him. And who’d have thought he would be this good for us? He had to break back into the side in early 2025 - IIRC he was left out of the early rounds? - but he has been consistently a mainstay of our defence since then. And our defence is one of the best in the AFL.

Haha, I had to go looking for BBB conspiracy.

He's such a good defender because to opposition cant trick him. They'll go up to IQ or Moore and say " Fly said for you to let me kick this one" and they'll be like "oh, OK" but Billy will be like "no way, you're a Rosicrcian and from the Hollow Earth, thats bulldust" and tackle them.

He should be in AA Contention so far this Season

Been Huge for Us in 2026
I agree. I think that he is having a very good season. He looks far more assured playing as a key back either at full-back or at centre-half back or even as a key back in terms of a back pocket role. Generally his one-on-one marking against his his opponent has become far more assured & decisive. Hopefully he can maintain that form going forward in 2026.

Stood up really well against a good forward line. Keep doing what you do Billy!
Yes it is so easy to love what he is doing this year, with Howe and Moore out of sorts and probably in decline due to age, he is now our chief big pillar in defence and is as tough as nails. Reckon he is a bit of a cult hero with the crowd as well.

Maybe time for contract renewal talks.

Like a fine wine, Billy Frampton just keeps getting better with age.

When he arrived at Collingwood Football Club at the end of 2022, most Pies supporters were asking, I know I was “who the **** is Billy Frampton?” Fast forward to 2026 and he’s become one of the most dependable role players on the list.

What’s made him so valuable is that he knows exactly what he is as a player. He doesn’t try to be flashy — he competes hard, plays his role, and rarely gets beaten badly and now rarely tries to do too much. The other underrated thing is his durability and adaptability.

His 2023 Grand Final role on Harris Andrews was probably the moment I bought in. It wasn’t glamorous, but he played it perfectly and helped break up Brisbane’s (Harris Andrews) intercept game for most of the day.

His stats back it up too. His player rating has steadily climbed since arriving at Collingwood, with 2026 now his highest-rated season. His disposal efficiency is elite for a key defender, his 1%ers keep improving, and he’s become far more composed in contests.

He’s basically gone from “depth player” to the ultimate Mr. Fix-It

He was the the ultimate utility in 2023.

We were without a ruckman for a chunk of the first half of the season and Billy stepped up, even beating Draper on Anzac Day. Don't think we lost a game during that stretch. He moved forward when we needed him and supported the backline when we needed him.

I remember Jay Clark said he spoke to a coach before the 2023 Grand Final who said that if Brisbane wins, Harris Andrews will win the norm. Insert Billy Clampton.

That was a thing of beauty, if he had of clunked those couple of goals, maybe we would of been calling him Normie. ;) :D:D
