Worth noting ..
When the club let go of Billy it wasn't JUST Billy the club no longer wanted to deal with .
Now EVERY ONE is a happy ...we all move on .
Yep.

Billys dad sure made it hard for the kid.

Clarko finally had enough of the clown and all his bullshit.

I hope the kid goes well.

Keyboard Warrior because of an opinion about the durability of a player? The guys had a knee injury that kept him about for the better part of 3 years. The jury is far from being out as to whether his knee will stay strong and that's just being realistic.
Mate, be honest with yourself, what you really wanted to write was I hope he gets injured again because I can't stand that Hawthorn are a good team and he's been in ripping form to start the year off and looks to be getting better with each game.

The truth is you have NO IDEA at all what state his knee is in, as where we have people inside the club on our board who know the players, know the coaches and have observed every single training sessions over the off season who tell us he hasn't missed a session, has no residual soreness in his knee and his body feels as good as it ever has at AFL level, and now it is just all about conditioning and getting match feel back.

I've watched Hawthorn closely and they don't at all concern me now or into the next few years.

That’s odd. Any more specific info?
Story is he marched into Clarkos office demanding to know why his son was not in the side for the Grand Final in 2015, and continued to be a pest whenever Billy got dropped.
Even though the Hawks were light on for outside run he got dropped because in a Grand Final you can't carry blokes that are very very wary of physical contact.

His dad by all accounts bagged other Hawks players out on a consistent basis, who he thought his boy should have got a game in front of.
Next minute his manager shops him around thinking there was plenty of interest, but there was none.
His manager, his dad and poor Billy (who was badly advised) came back with their tails between their legs and wanted a longer contract.By this stage Clarko and the club were pissed off enough, they delisted him.

Good luck to the kid he sure can run and carry but his decision making with ball in hand when confronted by apponents and likely physical contact was the thing that lead his downfall at the Hawks, that and his dickhead dad.

And yet Hawthorn has been the most difficult opponent your team has faced this year. And before you go on about turnovers and clangers and not playing well, you made more turnovers and clangers against Adelaide than you did against us. Think you might want to reconsider your position on Hawthorn. Or not, don't care.

And just to keep things on topic, why do you think Collingwood weren't interested in Hartung?

Well it's obvious you do care.

Story from who?

Lol - into Clarko's office of all places!!

They'd get their lights punched out. IF they could get through the door.

Exhibit A: Delete "go the Powaaaaar", and insert, "so and so is s**t and my son should be getting a game."

It's bullshit.

That's odd considering we have treated Collingwood like a doormat for as long as I can remember.
Look I get the Hawk envy I really do,because we have been winning Premierships at an astonishing rate for over half a century and opposition supporters must be sick of it.
I find it odd that as a supporter of a team we consistent destroy (the latest one only a few weeks ago) does not display concern at this FACT.

Trust me when I tell you this, you should be very concerned about Clarko and the Hawks.

Where did I say I played a part in it?

What house do you live in to sit and brag about others’ footballing successes? You don’t constantly destroy Collingwood or win premierships, all you do is sit on the couch and click your remote.

Supporting a specific team does not give you infinite wisdom and knowledge and a run of success does not give you the upper hand in any discussion/debate.

There's something to it, his dad was apparently quite outspoken

Hmmm should I follow your keyboard warrior doctorate in remote injury diagnosis, or trust our club doctors and specialists and his actual onfield performance and output?
Had no idea what was happening in this thread until I clicked the “show ignored content”, and saw the post you’d quoted.

Ignore list is your friend.

Was very iffy when we recruited Hilly Bartungs but have been very very pleasantly surprised.

His game suits North perfectly at the moment, and wasn't well suited to Hawthorn's style.

Lots of players, especially younger in the career, get a real boost from moving clubs.

Hasn't done anything to indicate softness in what I've seen at North.

Nobody gets to play AFL or drafted as high as he was if they are soft or avoid contact.

But every team has its whipping boys and Billy seems to have been one at Hawthorn - then their errors are magnified and they can be accused of things that never happened.

Hope he tears it up on Sunday.
