Bit of a shame, story becomes exponentially more intriguing if you've played the first.
I thought it would but only got this one as a cheap preowned impulse buy

10-20 what I have been hearing

About 5 or so into it. Very impressed so far. Looking forward to the ending heard nothing but good things about it.

I haven't played the other bioshock games before this one though

It could be about that. It's quite a long campaign.

Great game though. It's one of the best of the year.

Playing through the game really highlighted how difficult it can be to tell a coherent story in the videogame medium. Very interesting storyline but the execution was felt sloppy towards the end when they dumped 20 minutes of exposition on the player. I'm glad I actually paid attention to the tapes because otherwise it would've seemed like nonsense.

Ending spoilers:
I picked that Booker was Comstock and that Elizabeth was Booker's daughter. Although I thought the Booker / Comstock connection came via time travel caused by the tears.

Was amused that the whole plot has to do with the lengths a father will go to save his daughter and then it ends with her never existing at all. I'm not sure how satisfied I am playing a story that when it is over never happened at all.

It took me 31 hours to finish the game. I'm the sort of player that likes to immerse myself in a game and not fly through it, so at times i did a little exploring etc

Im putting myself down for a 20ish hour play then.
I like to take my time but dont explore every last shadow

It's interesting, I spent time checking for tapes and other such stuff and certainly don't feel like I rushed anything. Finished it in 10 hours. Was playing on the default difficulty though which may have something to do with it.

Honestly think with the time I spent you could probably ice the game in 5-6 hours if you were just ticking off the objectives.

Hmm I guess I'll just play it by ear.
If I am unfamiliar with a game or series I play default difficulty if I do a second play through I go hard

Finally a date for the first episode

Burial At Sea is live on the PSN/XBL and I raced through it.

It's pretty good. It isn't 3-5 hours long.

It took me just over 2 hours to complete it, you could race through in an hour if you wanted to but I was trying to explore. I think it is worth it for the price, the end is crazy again but not in the same ways as Infinite was.

Grab the season pass for $30 because they are charging $22 for each one, so you'll save money going that way if you're planning on playing them both.

They said average play time is 2-3 hours. Quicker if you bolt straight through, and one of their playtesters went 4 hours by exploring every single nook and cranny.

It's on the short side, but then the game itself was only 12 hours long. If I get 4-6 hours of DLC that's of a similar quality to the original game for the price of the season pass, I'll be pretty happy.

End of Burial at Sea Episode 1 Spoiler below

So what did everyone think?? I thought it certainly added a different dimension to the story and it seems Elizabeth is trying to find a "good" me (Booker/Comstock) and I failed the test.

I don't know that it's so much a revenge thing for what happened more than trying to find the good in what ultimately is evil.

I took the below screenshot during the final cut scene and god damn she looks straight into your soul.

Realise I'm a little late to the party on this, but what an ending.

The early coin flip encounter with the Luteces becomes a massive mind-**** once you've finished the game. Same with the initial biblical quotes in the lighthouse and when you arrive at Columbia.
