The Aussie women are still outperforming the men in so many sports.
Why is Australia unique in this regard?
We're not unique. Its because women get equal funding like the men for these Olympic sports in Oz, and with a smaller population than the bigger nations we have too many football codes pulling away talented males.

In Olympics the African, east European and Asian nations the men get the majority funding.

We have 4 football codes that share the talent pool. Most countries only have one or two.

If the AFL and NRL offer fulltime professional opportunities to women by 2026 and $100,000+ salaries and the Olympic sports can only offer AIS type scholarships and not much money, then the women's medal dominance over males will decrease every 4 year cycle.

The US college system under Title IX legislation that celebrated 50 year anniversary this year said US unis only got federal government funding if there was equality in sports funding in the unis' between the genders and sports programs. It why US women have been producing more medals than the men. A lot of western nations that give equal funding see their women win more than the men on a regular basis.
