Speaking of which....Do you have the figures on the players with the highest kicking efficiency, in the TAC Cup for 2016 Bishop?

Also....Any smokeys who have stood up & caught your eye this finals series, thus far?

Not a TAC player but Josh Rotham has gone at something like 90% for two years running.
He was considered the best kick at training and games for the academy side this year also.

Out of all the relevant ones these are the top 3- My spreadsheet has had a few issues since updating a few finals stats, so I haven't included Sandy or Murray- If you remind me in about a fortnight I can get a bigger list if you want!:
Harrison Bult: 82.9%
Lachlan Murphy: 78.6%
Louis Cunningham: 75.6%

I reckon there has been a few smokies. I'd certainly say Sam Simpson from Geelong Falcons has caught my eye. Father/Son for Geelong, he's lively around goal and very smart inside 50; Reads the play well and the flight of the ball.

I hadn't seen a lot of Callan Wellings due to him playing most of his games in the country, I liked him in defence and through the midfield.

I reckon Louis Cunningham hasn't got enough credit. Superb left foot out of the Oakleigh Chargers backline and has some pace with his orange boots. Jordan Ridley is another one who assess' play well out of the backline.

How is it, that a lad with an almost 83% KE hasn't been mentioned on draft boards?....Not many games?

Also Cunningham & Lyons....Are they the brothers of the boys at Carlton/Adelaide?

Finally:....It seems like the entire Sandy side is putting it's hand up to be drafted.

Yep, Griffin Logue is the one, although it was for SD when he played in the midfield as you have stated.

With teams looking for taller, big bodied mids these days, this draft looks to have a couple pencil marked for the midfield already and there are probably a couple of smaller KPP that could make the move as well at AFL level... I think Stringer is a pretty good example of this, although he is playing a lot of football forward, i think midfield is where he is at his most explosive and probably would play there in a team with better forwards on the roster.

Going at 83%, maybe a lot of his possession is uncontested with a lot of short kicks?

Just looked him up- 198cm/83kg. Unusual that a kid of that hieght would have such high KE...

Don't know about Cunningham, but Corey Lyons (Dragons) is the younger brother of Jarryd (Crows).

Bishop would you say the steals of the draft will come from SA and WA where the players playing league or reserves seniors aren't seen weekly like the TAC cup lads and these lads playing league are playing against men which doesn't given them the time and opportunity to blitz the comp, when they need to oppose ex afl players or solid senior players.

An example is the favorites for the Margery medal in the SANFL this year was Cameron Ellis yeoman and Zane kirkwood no u 18 lad can compete with that

Agree with this. Saw a bit of SPP at the end of the year. didn't rack up the footy or kick bags but their were instances where he just looked so threatening. I think he was named as one of the bests for ep a few times as well.

I'm always wary of looking at the bests, I've found plenty of games where my best have been different to the coaches, media and even other clubs etc!

As you say, those instances can be very important.

I did say WA and SA are very similar in the fact the u18 comps aren't as strong as the TAC so a lit play up in seniors which does bode well for development

Haven't watched any of his games to be brutally honest. I don't really 'waste' my time watching the WAFL seniors. It's impossible to cover every single league in Australia etc, so I just focus on the U18 comps & some of the reserves stuff when I get get vision etc.

By the numbers he's been superb this year- But from what I hear I think he's probably unlikely to be drafted. Maybe worth a late rookie- I really liked him as an U18 player.

Comitogianni and Pitman are criminally underrated.

Not so sure about that. Comitogianni just isn't good enough, he couldn't hit the side of a barn if it was in front of him. Kicked at 43.5% in the champs and he just isn't up to AFL Standard. A possibility of a club punting with a rookie pick on him- but might be lucky if that happens.

Im on the fence with Pitman- think he's a good player and works hard for an inside mid. Size will definitely be a factor, but reminds me of Anthony Miles type of player from Richmond- small inside mid with good clearance/tackling ability.

Were not watching the same players, did you watch the S.A internal trial game? How was Comitogianni's DE% around the 75% mark if he was kicking at 43%? doesn't match up , you don't win the Macca's cup MVP in 2015 and the 2016 reserves Magarey medal if you can't kick. He is a far superior kick than Graham and Schareberg.
As for Pitman he is a stand out kick in a draft with a lot of ordinary kicks.

Can't kick, decision making is horrible. Senior form is good, but those two fundamental errors for me put him in my black book. Have him in the 40s and still reckon he'll be around the Pick 30 mark on draft night at this stage in my opinion. Looms as a HFF that can push into the midfield at times.

22 touches today, four goals including one on the run from the pocket and a brilliant snap over his shoulder.

Disposal was outstanding by hand and foot. Set up a couple of goals for his team mates and plenty of other opportunities.

He'll be embarrassing a few people once he's been in the system and he's coached to handle his raw talent.

Bishop do you expect English and Marshall to go top ten this year? All the quality seems to be midfielders but it would be strange not to see a couple of big guys go high.

Also, are you expecting GWS to have to use their first pick (7) on and academy player or do you think they'll be able to use that in the open draft?
