Hey km i like the sounds of himmleberg can play both ends good tank good size ball use not too great not too quick but sounds like the perfect westhoff replacement. Is he a reach at 30/31 and if port bid in sproule at that pick would it be matched? Im super keen on him but afraid he'll be matched

Jye Bolton could be another mature aged recruit that may get a chance.

I haven't seen him play this year, so can't comment on him. I know KM has a huge 'bias/love' over him seeing as he saw him at the Pies, I doubt he's seen any of his stuff in the WAFL this year, so it'd be daft to comment on how he has gone.

Not a reach at 30/31- it sounds like he could go anywhere from 25+. I'm not a huge fan, I didn't mind his stuff in the Div 2 champs, Div 1 I felt he was quieter.

Depends where the bids come in for others & Sproule. If he went in the 20s I don't reckon Sproule is matched, but in the 30s I reckon they would.

Will Brodie getting to the Swans will go some way in healing the grand final loss (which means he probably won't get past Carlton).

If GC don't have to use pick 4 in matching a bid for Bowes, I can't see Brodie getting past pick 4. If GC do have use pick 4 matching a bid on Bowes, and Carlton don't pick Brodie with their pick 5, then GC will definitely pick up Brodie at 6.

Disagree. I think there is a good chance Brodie could get to the Swans or the Suns' final pick.

Pick 4: Lions: Ainsworth (McClug)
Pick 5: Carlton: Taranto (SPS)
Pick 6: Gold Coast: SPS (Scrim)
Pick 7: Fremantle: English (SPS)
Pick 8: Gold Coast: Scrimshaw (TT/SCRIM)
Pick 9: Sydney: Logue (Simpkin)
Pick 10: Gold Coast: Brodie (English if there)

Gold Coast take SPS at 7 to stop Freo taking him there, so that Scrimshaw gets to 8. Suns will 'play' the draft.

Ones in brackets are other possibilities at those picks.

I think we will take Tarranto due to his two way running goal kicking ability. We need a Hannebery more than another Cripps.

Hoping Gallucci lasts to pick 25 because we will also need his run and decent skills to forward 50

Might be worth removing Villis from your power rankings, does not sound like he will even be able to play football again.

Not sure what I'll do with that- I still rate him 'Top 20' technically. I'll give it some thought- will be updating my stuff anyway.

Just my opinion but you shouldn't ask KM a question on Bishop's board.

With the Hawks coming in super late would you expect there to be much genuine AFL talent left on the table?

Id hate a list filler and am bouyed by the fact that the rookie list always seems to have some gems - which is almost where we are drafting from.

I think there will be some decent names around in the 70-80s. Always a few gems out of the rookie and Hawks will have worked hard to find a list of name. Two names that I think will be considered will be Will Leslie & Ollie Hanrahan (unless Geelong pounce).

Thanks for the reply. Would you mind shedding a little light on them as players if thats not too much of a hassle?

Will Leslie is a tall utility- has played all over the place and even through the midfield. 192kg, 84kgs. Elite speed, especially over the first few metres. One on one work is pretty good, but I think he could almost play anywhere. Kicking lacks some polish, but his contested numbers through midfield were pretty good.

Ollie played school footy this year for St Kevins as well as the Young Guns game. Saw him a handful of games and was very impressive in a team that had Tim Taranto, Patrick Kerr, Michael Romero. Plays as a HFF that can push into the midfield. Know Hawks are one of the few clubs to be interested. Got some spark to him around the ball and is quick. Disposes of it well too.

Brilliant cheers, will keep an eye out for them. Seems pick 88/90 might still unearth an AFL player if the depth of this draft holds up!

Agree with principal but more particularly about watching games . Problem then being you have to view quite a few games even the very best in AFL have down days / spells . Then you generally only have opportunity to view local games , hence my total lack of comments on players not WA.

When someone win the WAFL equivalent of the Brownlow I think you can safely take that as a good form guide as to how their season went at that level . Agree with drafting thoughts , winning Sandover not what is was pre so many WA players being in AFL. It kind of goes to the best of the rest . Matt Priddis last to make real impact further up.

Watching games on tape a poor second to viewing live hence talent scouts and recruiters get to games . By its very nature camera has to follow ball which often does little justice to hard work off the ball, out of camera shot. Typically the stuff recruiters hunger for .

who do you see North picking at 11? any sliders? Brodie potentially? cheers.

I think there is a chance Brodie is available - But do they pick him? Maybe/Maybe not. I think Daniel Venables & Ollie Florent are the two who are in their sights- Cedric Cox is another they like and he won't be available at their next pick.

is Cedric Cox to big of a reach at pick 11? does he have scope to become an 'A grader'?

I think he has the ability. He didn't do a preseason and had hardly played football prior to this season. Didn't look out of place in the TAC or in the All Stars game. Probably a reach- but they're definitely keen.

Having looked at the drafts between 2000 to 2009 it appears about 35% of drafted players manage to play in excess of 100 AFL games. Do you think you would be prepared to pick those out of your phantom draft who will be lucky enough to get that 100 game standard, with 65 % failing to hit the mark

I've got about 80 picks in my draft- so that's 52 players who don't make the cut. I reckon I could probably pick out 28 that will make the cut.

I reckon all of those I have in my Phantom Draft in the top 28- except Villis, Marshall, Sproule. I'll replace them with Rotham, Ridley & Daicos---

In saying that with a deep draft this year, I'd expect more than '28' to make the cut.
