Bishop, have you seen much of Jackson Edwards? Wondering if he's in your next 5-10 at this stage or if you have some serious question marks over him. Cheers

Have seen him about 6-7 times, I definitely don't agree with those who place him in the first round. Nothing against South Australians but they have tended to pump up and overestimate their own prospects. Of course with that comes Father/Sons who also get boosted up by some but they are never as good as everyone makes them out to be.

Edwards is a nice polished kick on his left foot but would like to see him improve his ball winning and winning the ball rather than waiting to receive it. While he's got some good traits (eg: kick) in a draft that definitely isn't as deep as past I do have him in the 30+ range.

Other KPD's or other players? Also if we don't take a KPD with one of our first 2 draft picks will there be any later to look at. We only have Garthwaite atm.

Not a huge amount of talls outside first round or so. It's not a deep draft so I wouldn't be expecting to pluck someone with Garth's ability late. Might only be 60 or so live picks this year. Can also bring one in via trade.

Bishop, why is your hair so sharp? Is it magic?

Asking for a friend.

It's just my natural look, effected by wearing the same hat at the weekly TAC Cup games.

So any big bodied clearance machines who are a GOOD kick likely to be in the top 5 this draft?

Those two are hard to match. Generally inside clearance machines aren't great kicks.

Adam Cerra (Vic Metro) is one that might fit a close resemblance to that, Darcy Fogarty (SA) another - but whether he ends up key position or as an inside mid it remains to be seen.

James Worpel & Cassidy Parish (Both Vic Country) are two other inside mids with good clearance work but below average kicks.

Overall the top 10 on draft night is likely to be tall heavy rather than mids at this stage.

It is a weird position for me as a Swans fan to be in. A KPF might be useful if we are going to lose Tippett in the next few years but right now a player who is an amazing kick and decision maker would be vital in the midfield I think, especially if he is good at clearances.

Basically imagine Dangerfield with Lewis Jetta's field kicking :p

Of modern day footballers, who would you compare the top 5 or 6 key forward prospects to? I and some other do find it pretty difficult to match the youngsters with established guys so it'd be good to know from a source such as yourself who knows what he's talking about

I hate comparisons- because they're pointless and no two players are similar.

Brander, Hayes, Ballenden are the only "Key" forwards likely to be drafted in the first round. Noah Balta has been poor so far this season and his best position is unclear so I'll leave him out.

Roughly something like the below - but even then I don't feel comfortable.

Hayes = Peter Wright
Ballenden = Jono Patton
Brander = Jez Cameron/Darcy Moore

Whereabouts do Shipley, Myers, Richards, highmore and Owen-auburn all look to be placed on your list?

Then why are we hearing that the 1st round will be choc full of KPP's?

The first round has a number of tall candidates who could be first round. Noah Balta, Nathan Kreuger and Oscar Clavarino are three who else could feature (other than the three forwards in post above) but I rate them better as defenders. I'm not a fan at all of Callum Coleman-Jones who others consider first round, nor Hayden McLean who is also in the academy.

Jaidyn Stephenson and Darcy Fogarty are two other mid sizes who plays as talls at times too.

I think Shipley is the best out of them all, been super in the Div II champs. Will assess more once he reaches the Allies squad to get a better gauge of how he goes against stronger opposition.

Myers, Highmore, Owen-Auburn are three who I think could be rookies or not taken. Owen-Auburn did some good things for NSW in last years champs but the Giants didn't take him. I actually didn't mind Myers' work last year either.

Richards for me has put on too much weight- his mobility isn't great and having seen him up close the last few weeks in the AFL Academy stuff I really reckon he's gone backwards in the last nine months.

Overall - A bit early to tell in the year as the academy series has had some very weak lineups and games played. Once the NEAFL is in full swing alongside the Allies games will know where they stand.

Hi bishop who is saints taking with #1 pick this year, a midfielder over 185 with clean skills and some pace

That'd be Lochie O'Brien. A classy midfielder who uses it well off his left foot. Plays well on the outside (on the wing) and is 184cm. Runs < 3second 20m sprint and good endurance base.

Cheers mate, is he more a genuine midfielder? We seem to have some of those forwards who can play mid but I feel we need genuine gun mids

Genuine midfielder that plays on the outside. Should find a home in the top 10 somewhere, very good player.

Something minor, but the link in your opening post is to your 2015 effort rather than 2016 one.
