Are you suggesting that we may not match a bid on Ballenden because Schache looks like staying?
Only one team owns pick 15, and it's not the Lions, so we won't be looking at a midfielder with it, because it's not our pick.
What im saying is we have #15 and worth making a bid, With Schache now looking like staying perhaps lions might not match as they have 3-4 big kpf already

Noticed that Joel Garner isn't in Twomey's top 25. Any reason why he might be slipping? Would be perfect for North's 2nd rounder.

I haven't seen enough of Kelly to be honest, and I can't give you much in terms of information that are accurate. You can't physically cover every league in the Country, so I just keep my eye on the U18s players.
I should have some vision/time to watch a few WAFL games closer to the draft, so I'll see what I can do.
Didn't surprise me, know there's some who aren't big fans of him. Defensive running & work isn't great. No real clear position - just jogs around at times & I reckon he's had a poor season. I think he falls anywhere from the 2nd round onwards, but we'll see.
Decent kick, but can pick and choose his efforts at times. Some are fans of him more than others nevertheless. Bear in mind, it is Cal's personal rankings.

No doubt is a good player but it worries me that he's been good for a few years (improved slightly over that time) but hasn't been so much as rookie listed so there may be some issues outside of his talent?

Will probably get drafted but no certainty.
Defender who doesn't defend and does not run well.
Has shown very little as a midfield and little x factor as a forward.
Quality kid with many accolades but has some serious holes in his game. 40 onwards for me.
Would not be shocked if he is one of the last drafted.

He'll definitely get drafted, but I agree it's probably 3rd round or later.
If he has so many holes in his game, why would you bother?

These are holes he needs to fill to play AFL. Doesn't mean they can't be filled. Plenty of others running around who lack the key attributes in the first place.
Having said that, I agree - he will slide quite a bit as plenty have pushed past him
in the last 2 months.

Was speaking to someone at South Freo the other day who described him as a genuinely good guy and a decent worker so that put that to rest for me. He has certainly picked up a notch this year I reckon, not that i've seen more than a few games.
Have never heard anything remotely bad about Kelly's character or application. Just a simple case of a player making the jump this year to a higher level. His previous years were good, but this year he has transcended the WAFL with genuinely dominant performances.

He has all the tools. Power, speed, agility, size. Clean hands, very good hands in close & tackles likes it nobodies business.
Watching him dig the ball out of congestion & getting his hands free to dish it off reminded me of Bont. He showed he has a good turn of speed kicking that goal as well.
If he goes outside the top 10 he's a bargain (which at this stage he likely does).

Just so happens that the team with pick 20 love taking highly talented, underdone blokes who's seasons have been ruined by injury. Would be a good fit at the Cats.
