Are there any plans on an updated Power Rankings list?

Love your work.

24 hours, I promise!

Twomey just like Quayle is far too positive & not critical enough imo

They have to be - they "need" the sources. Last thing they want to do is to p!ss off a kid & his family, where do you think Cal gets his stories from... the players & the player managers.

Indeed. But from a selfish point of view I like to read an unbiased opinion which those two do not offer. Big footy rulz!

With the crows nominating Jackson Edwards for the ND and committing to him in the RD, do you see a bid coming in the ND for him and a what range ?
I expect the crows to match any bids 3R plus

Won't be an issue, I'd expect them to match regardless. Bid should come in 50+

Cal Twomey isn't the be-all & end-all : He has Bonar near the 20 mark, he's going to be picked in the top 10 on draft night for example.

Cal is great at what he does - but he's no different to Brett Anderson, KM, myself etc etc -- if you see enough you're entitled to an opinion & that is Cal's. Everyone's opinion is different to the AFL recruiters, and even then they don't have the same orders!

Think the Swans reckon he can transition into a midfielder long term, very clean at ground level, has footballing smarts, massive upside. Good mark & solid kicking technique.

Ed was superb for Carey Grammar at school then continued that into the latter half of the season for the Chargers. I think he's a chance to go in the first round, so Pick 14 wouldn't be too far off the mark - but I'm not sure Swans would select him. Elite speed across HBF, good ball user - possesses quick/fast hands & rebounds it well.
I wouldnt be unhappy if Richmond called out Ed Richards with any of our 3 selections, I like what i see with Ed and he looks to be a true footballer with speed and good decision making and already 184cm i think he will grow another 2-3 cm and become more inside as well.

Im seeing a Docherty/Goddard type here

Hi Bishop, Great work. I am just reading through through the combine testing threads and was particularly interested in how Hugh Dixon went. Why didn't he do the 2km etc? I was also wondering how his agility test was compared to the the combine average. There has always been a knock on his agility, yet his numbers seem really good for a tall.

Agility test was pretty good - better than I expected. Agility average was 8.5s at the National Combine.

He sat out the 2km due to "hamstring tightness" - I do think there is some "strategy" with kids sitting out tests though, with some knowing they won't do well etc.

. Dixon should have done his hammy before the 20 metre sprints.

Thanks for that, its interesting. Dixon's 8.3 compares well. He should have tightened up before the 20m sprints. Seems strange that he is a fair way slower than average on the sprints and a fair way quicker than average on the agility. If someone like Dixon missed the 2km time trial due to a minor injury wouldn't a club if they had questions just ask them to do it? Do they do that?

any chance of Carlton taking Tim Kelly or Liam Ryan?? and what about a tall late in the draft??

Very true on cal however the biggest influence on a clubs drafting will be based around the way the game has gone

Disposal is by far the biggest influence on a player due to clubs capitalising on turnovers
It was one of Adelaide's main weapons last year

Surely that will be clubs biggest issue so I can see a few players not as highly rated finding their way up the list if they have elite disposal and those with poor disposal going the opposite wAy

Not sure how much the choking Crow's gameplan will influence draft day.

Pretty sure most teams score massively because of turnovers Adelaide just did exceptionally well from it, probably why JJ is known as Joe the goose, when the ball is turned over everyone is out of position

Disposal is the key to those turnovers, players with poor disposal are coach killers, Collingwood are a classic example

Players with elite disposal are like hens teeth, would be interesting to see who rates this draft bunch as elite disposal of course they need other attributes as 50% of draftees fail anyway

If a player is injured/sore they don't run it - it's their decision, not the AFL clubs.

The talk I hear is that both fellas have kids on the way, with most feeling that only one of the WA clubs would take them. WCE have a few 2nd rounders so that's probably likely.

However - another person suggested that Kelly would be a chance to move interstate. Feeling is he's a top 35 pick. Others wouldn't touch Liam Ryan.

Think SOS is keen on talls next year.

But the Crows didn't win the flag - so why would clubs look at their game style :p

I think in recent years that has been the approach, with better data kept and Champion Data covering more games. Kicking efficiency is an important asset, especially coming out of defensive 50 - where turnovers kill you.

Think a lot of clubs will be looking for players who tackling/high pressure after last years finals.

Hey Bishop, if Naughton lasts past the top ten which clubs would be the most likely to take him do you think? Can't see many fans of the 11-20 clubs saying they really want him (not that that means anything obviously).

I agree it's a hard one to place him. You can never rule out WCE due to the WA factor, Richmond would be an option if he got all the way to Pick 17. Dogs/Crows couldn't be ruled out entirely.

I'd rule us out personally, backline is one of the few areas we run pretty deep these days.

I can see him slipping - just seems at every pick there's another player the selecting club would want/need more. I was thinking the best chances were Adelaide (replace Lever, although I don't completely buy into the "replace player x" idea) or West Coast as you said. Richmond I think would take one or two of the plentiful KPFs in their range, they've set themselves up nicely to do so. What do you think about GWS or Brisbane?
