A few months too late for those ?'s :p

The potential has always been there, the excitement her race performances generate have always pointed to the superstar that she could be.

For a moment, forgetting the name, the hype, the buzz and the naysayers after the field fell away somewhat - a 3yo filly, returning from injury, taking on the older more seasoned and race-fit horses and the manner in which beat them, is huge (and no I didn't back her tonight, was never even tempted to at those odds).

Whilst in the grand Group 1 (here and abroad) scheme of things, she didn't beat much, it was in the manner she did it - which, considering the way the race was run, she had to win like that to justify the wraps on her.

She put paid to them in a stride and the race was 'over' in the blink of an eye and she'll take enormous benefit out of that. Her class won that. She needed the run, she needed the experience, she did enough wrong when the pressure went on to suggest her victory shouldn't have been quite that expansive and that her professionalism isn't 'there' yet - but she did it on her ear.

Here De Angels is no slouch - he simply had his pants pulled down and was harshly spanked by a genuine, up and coming G1 sprinting (at least) superstar.

Outstanding breeding and she's start-by-start proving to be the best of that generation - she is (will prove to be imo) quite better than Magnus..... the world is probably her oyster - but first, let's see her do it here against our best. Any chinks in her sprinting armour (barrier/starting manners of greatest note and she still races to her experience level) will be exposed by the likes of All Silent, Denman and co. But the day she puts it all together.... *shivers*.

Suitable targets this Autumn....? How far can she go? She'll run a mile easily imo. Should she be tested over further this prep? Can she go as well the opposite (Sydney) way?

All questions which will be thoroughly debated over the course of this season and her career - fingers crossed she just stays sound.

Gotta love this season for 3yos

How lucky is Peter Moody at the moment?! Typhoon Tracy, Black Caviar, Set For Fame, Wanted, Avenue, Headway, Tickets, Hanks, Salinas, Willow Creek..... all young, all with plenty of racing ahead of them, all looking to be quite talented - hopefully the stable keeps kicking goals :thumbsu:

Reckon we need to see it against beter quality yet.

Personally I rate Here De Angels is a good sprinter but really only marginally above Saturday welter class

But you can only beat whats in front of you

Its great for racing that we have this potential superstar

Hope they go Lightning and Newmarket

I keep thinking back to the day she spanked Carrara (Stutt Stakes winner/2nd Caulfield Guineas) by 6 lengths eased down.

Plenty of brilliant sprinter types come back to the field, if they look after her though and dont extend her too far like Hussler/Finland I think she will be Australian Horse of the Year not before too soon.

Black Caviar, Typhoon Tracy, Headway and Avenue - these girls have a combined record of 30 starts for 20 wins and 7 placings for Moody...sickening

I went and watcher her tonight, and she looked fat, not super fat but she still isn't 100% peak fitness. HDA is is white hot form, super fit and Black Caviar made a fool of it.

She didn't have the best run, wobbled a bit and didn't run super times but like i said she isn't 100% yet. She'll do some damage this autumn.

Talk of a possible trip to Dubai in late March for a US $2 million race

To put it simply, Black Caviar should never run past a mile.

That is what has ruined some of our best young sprinters in the past, stepping them up to Cox Plate and even Derby/Oaks distances instead of being smart and leaving them from a mile down.

1200 will always be Typhoon Tracy and BC's best distance, both can win fairly easily over 1400m and would beat the right field over 1600m, but don't even try 1600m +, it's not worth it.

TT's only real failure recently came over 1800m, I rest my case.

Very harsh on TT,her 1500/1600m record is very good.
She won a Gp 1 mares by 5 & was beaten a lip by Vigor in an open Gp2,beating home Heart Of Dreams & P Pricer.
She also won the Coolomore (1500m) from barrier 14 & hanging all the way.

I couldnt see her winning the Newmarket but she could certainly win a Doncaster IMO.

What makes you so sure that TT is the same as BC though? They will never know if they have a cox plate horse unless they try the extra distances, which they did with TT. Look what Sunline did at the Valley.

Plenty of question marks IMO, hasn't beaten much. Here De Angels was a battler until Kav injected her with some of his famous snake venom! We really need to see BC up against 11 or 12 other stars.

Cant wait to see that but until then the jury's out

I wouldn't say she has beaten crabs though.

She beat Cararra and Demerit by 6L and they proved to be up with the better 3yo's, she injured herself at the start of a race and still beat Wanted, who then came out and was beaten under a length n one of the best races of the year, by All Silent.

She didn't just beat HDA, she toyed with him, and she is probably half fit.

Still has it all to do, but I am confident.

Until she beats 5 or 6 decent horses in a couple of group 1's im not sold. Hope she does! I cant wait to see her when the pressures on and there are changes in tempo
