Looks like the William Reid stakes at the valley will be her next start, cancelling all plans that day and going to the track

casually broke the course record without too much pressure

The track record is pretty much the race record, the Lightning being the only high class race run over 1000m. Still, Special broke the old record by a full second and had the assistance of a tail wind. Coming from any other horse, this performance would be a sensation, but it's just another chapter in the amazing BC story. Credit to connections for bringing her back in such great shape.

Maybe not:

“To win another Newmarket would be absolutely sensational and quite frankly I think if she pulls up well this morning, which obviously we think she has, even with 61.5kg in the Newmarket I think she’d give it a real crack.
“To win that race, not taking anything away from the William Reid (1200m), but to win the Newmarket would really be something.”

I can't make the William Reid stakes day but I can make Newmarket on 9th March so hoping that the connections decide she should run there.

I think the most ridiculous thing about it was the ease she broke the record with.
Certainly Nolen didn't let up on her but she was never really out of third gear.
I mean she increased her tempo between the 300m-150m marks but really never pushed.

My hands are sore from clapping this horse yesterday. A Lazarus like return in light of Whately's revelation on Offsiders this morning that after winning at Ascot on 3 legs she was then attacked by a swarm of bees and her strapper thought she was going to die. Just an incredible animal. I've been priviledged to attend 10 of her races and will chew future grandkids ears off telling them about her.

I wouldn't get carried away with the fact that she was hard held, she wouldn't go much faster if Nolen was getting stuck in, she is outstanding.

Moment of Change just confirmed my thoughts that he is one of the and if not the best horse in Austalia behind the great mare.

Based on yesterday's performance and the likely pull in the weights if Black Caviar went to the Newmarket then I think he could just about beat here, he gave her 2kgs yesterday, was hard held to the 200M and was beaten just over 2 lengths, he would be even better suited at 1200M.

I think it is a big risk sending her there.

Wouldn't imagine Peter Moody would let one of his own horses beat her.

I'm hoping like crazy she makes her way up to the TJ Smith - I'm almost tempted to buy a couple of tickets in anticipation. They'll go like crazy if they announce her plans this week (which I think they will).

Hopefully the A League finals scheduling plays along!

LOL at anyone thinking anything could beat her in the Newmarket no matter the weights after that effort.

As I've said - have heard it all before re: the weights - if Hay List couldn't do it - nothing else well - ESPECIALLY down the Flemington straight.

Me too. I'm not sure what to do. I would but now I hear this bullshit about going back to Ascot again. Are they ****ing kidding?

Barakey under handicap conditions will beat BC.

Weight isn't as much of an issue down the straight as it is around a bend.
