OK, so off the top of my head we have 5 debatable best 22 players missing from our current side;
Hansen
Davis
Potente
Robinson
Walters

On Hansen, I'm not expecting him to return even though Embers tonight thought he'd be OK for the Tigers' final.

Saturday, I think, signified that we need Davis in the side. He provides a great defensive aspect with his speed, tackling and ferocity. We have a heap of midfielders who pay their opponents little respect, he would help combat this.

Simply, Potente is not going to make it make into the senior side after missing pretty well all season.

The return of Robinson was the biggest highlight on Saturday. Despite playing just half a game he still gathered a team high 19 disposals. I would expect him to play reserves next week but hopefully will be in the senior side for Peel. Even if he just plays up forward he will be a great inclusion.

Sonson may be injured? If not, I would expect him to retain his spot at the Dockers. Though, I do think we'll see him again at some stage.

As for the outs, Spaanderman received a 2 week suspension tonight (sigh) and Colreavy looks to have pulled a hammy. Perhaps worrying is that our replacement kids in Outridge and Manton appear to also be injured.

I would bring in Lammie rather then pinch hit with Spencer so we can retain our structures but hopefully we can just use the next 2 games to build for the next encounter with Claremont.

I'd play Notte in the ruck, just my thought, rather than Lammie, for the love of Pete!:p:D I mean, Sullivan is not particularly strongly built, although the Peel ruckmen are.

Is Spaanderman ever going to learn?:(

The debutant Adams was pretty good in the ruck as a replacement for Spaanda & Coniglio at 16yo had 26 pos on debut ...Peel this week as a training run before the return bout with Claremont in the 2nd Semi ...could have Pearce, Walters, Hinkley, Spaanderman, Ames, Colreavy, Davis, Garlett etc to fit back into the side for that clash.

Got to say that was a privilege watching the Krak at work today. Fantastic when the members area started cheering each possie as he edged closer to 50. Brilliant effort. Good to see my boy Notte have a super game as well, 131 ranking points on the Sporting Pulse page, hopefully can keep this up through the finals!:thumbsu::D

Oh, good having Robinson and Steve Potente back, Coniglio - superb.

Congrats to the ressies on their first win for the season!:thumbsu::)

I couldve told you that years ago:)

I think having Robbo back in the side is as advantageous as having Ash Hanson back and am VERY happy to see him named in the guts as this is where Claremont smashed us last time

Before any Claremont nambies get on here about todays game - Swift and Chidzey should both be in the book for head high late tackles, and karma has finally found Rudeforth!!

Hopefully we can get past East Perth next week and settle things at Subi.

I was there and I didn't see anything that bad, certainly nothing that warranted the injury that Rutherford copped. What interested me was that no one seemed to get reported for it and that it didn't even get a fifty, despite a guy being on the ground with a broken jaw, depressed cheekbone fracture and missing teeth/bloody mouth.

I don't think that belongs in the game. So what did Rutherford do previously to deserve this? (serious question here, not a baiting attempt).

Seem to remember him taking someone high a few years ago at Basso, with a stretcher being needed.

As far as I know, Pratt went into the book. I would call it protecting yourself. Will be interesting to see if any other reports were made, as I said, both Chidzey and Swift should be in there as well.

Other than that, the Tigers midfield was too good. Mitchell should have been tagged, killed us again today. Both the Eagles and Dockers should look at him as a rookie list proposition.

Pratt was reported and won't play again this year considering there were still people looking for teeth on the ground 20 mins after the game finished. Chidgzey was reported as well. Interesting view sdfc15...

I guess paybacks a bitch then.

I watched our boy Ninyette and Swans number 13(er I think?) in an enthralling duel. Was a pleasure to watch. Two very good players imo.

35 for Swans played a good game too, took a great high mark.

Agree about Ninyette and Jetta (wished he had a bit more of his brothers pace, but he does OK).

Geaps had a shocker - so we must have looked at how he played differently.

Swans could not have played worse if they tried ...very dissapointing performance in front of a massive crowd of which Claremont provided at the most 500!

OK swans people, we have to get through EP first, and I mean through. A few of the boys that represented Swans today let the team down badly and need their balls to drop and start attacking the contest. The rest need to learn how to pick up a man. Claremont had 2 guys sitting defensive side of the pack all day, we never woke up to it, although not sure how they couldn't hear me telling them from the hill!:mad:

Pratt's was a stupid and dangerous, dare I say, Spaanderman like, act.

Jetta was really good, Spencer started well, Hansen was actually ok if the ball was delivered in the air. I was against bringing Spaanderman back for this match, my attitude has not changed. A Notte, Adams combination has been far more effective in the last 2 weeks. Roberts and Pearce played the worst games I have seen them play for Swans. Riggio hasn't impressed me all year, nothing's changed, same applies for Hinkley and Roach doesn't know what to do with a football when he's devoid of options in front of himself. We missed Potente, as I said we would, because we had no forward pressure/crumbing option.

OK, I'm pretty negative at the moment, but my comments will ring true.

I was at the game and thought it was quite funny to see Tom Swift try to bomb the ball and instead miss it completely, and have a Swannies boy crumb it up, the funny bit coming from the fact that Scott Burns was sitting close to me, on the wing that it happened ;)

Yeh saw that too , he is frustrating to watch he must be an absolute nightmare to play with..........

The rest of the Tigers great game team effort, good bounce back from last week

Couldnt agree more Swannies. No tackling, no shepherding but plenty of front running from most. Took supporters at one of the huddles to verbally tell Roach to show some respect before he even looked like trying to make his opposition accountable. Wolfenden hadnt laid a single tackle up till half time whilst playing on some of Claremonts prolific mid field, Im sure they had the ball enough times to warrent at least one tackle?! Coaching staff very relaxed about yesterdays display though

Anyone have any idea the last time the royals and swannies last met in a final? Does it go back to 1961 and the Bunton inspired grand final win or have there been others since.

Should be a great game this coming saturday. WAFL has been far more fun to watch this year than the Eagles.

1992 1st Semi & 1980 Preliminary Final are the last 2 meetings in Finals for SD V EP

Thanks for that info spearhead.

The swannies and royals rarely seem to be in the finals at the same time.

Really looking forward to this one.

We'll want to go 100% harder this week. Players like Hinkley, Roach, Wolfenden, Geappen are going to need to grow a pair.

I was super impressed with Swoop in the first quarter. He marshaled the troops and sorted out the structures down the ground. He also chased and harassed like a madman. Unfortunately, it only lasted the first quarter before he turned back into his sulky, lazy self.

Is Tom Roach a crab in disguise? He certainly never runs forwards. What good is his run and carry if he runs sideways all the time and doesn't break lines?

That's what I mean underdog. When it get's hard, these guys need to grow a pair. Couldn't agree more on Roach. What pisses me is over the course of the year, when players deserve to be dropped, Roach, Riggio, Hinkley, they don't get dropped.

Notte cops a lambasting in the Eagles report, yet he was the last man chasing Brabazon at the 20 min mark of the last quarter, no midfielders were. Wasn't Notte's best game, but he also started alright in the centre, then was misused IMO. Spaanderman didn't offer a lot in the ruck, IMO, Notte should have been kept there.

Ah well, another wasted year coming up, might as well just enjoy the boys playing 1 or 2 more games.

Anyone know who tall Luke Adams is now?

He was listed as 194 cm's last year when playing. Getting a lot of hitouts in the ruck, has he grown since last year?

Chance to get drafted?
