Went down to the club yesterday heard some interesting tidbit
- Greg Harding is none too impressed with the recruitment of John Williams, thinks it was a waste of money.
I think Williams has the potential to be good, if only we got rid of Harding, I think Harding isnt a coaches you know what....

I don't, sorry. I agree with Harding on this one. Ask my son, along with Hinkley, Lammie and a couple of others I cringe when they line up for Swans.

Thought Williams was doing ok.

Williams has been doing so well that Notte has been pushed back to CHB, where JW is listed to be playing each week. I'm actually stunned he got one game for Essendon. :(

Welll Hinkley is listed for the dockers for the game so heres hoping he dominates so he stays away from us.
As for Williams I dont disagree with you but the problem is that Harding hasnt settled him in a possie, they've chopped and changed him so often he doesnt know whether hes coming or going

I agree with Harding, but I also think Harding is a waste of time and money too.

On Hinkley and Lammie. I've blasted both in the past but I think Hinkley has improved this year. Not so many deer in the headlights situations and he's been breaking some lines. Big Wes, I do cringe a bit when he's in the side but I have also seen games where I've thought, geez we need a second ruckman. He's a very limited footballer but you know he'll always give you 110% and his one-percenters have been superb this year.

I guess the thing is Underdog, is that as the coach he has a say in which players he wants on his team, so in essence even if Williams is a big waste of money and time as Harding beleives he had the call on who should be recruited as well so as such the recrruitment of Williams is his fault.

Casserly takes drug ban to court

Swan Districts will lodge an injunction with the Supreme Court of WA in a desperate bid to allow suspended defender Travis Casserly to play for them this season.

Casserly, 24, is serving a two-year ban after failing a drug test. He was found to have the restricted substance pseudoephedrine in his system after last year's WAFL grand final win over Claremont.
...
The previous longest ban in sports for a positive pseudoephedrine test anywhere in the world had been six months.
...
"We are extremely disturbed at the length of the penalty," Harvey said.

Good on them. It's pathetic that a player taking a controlled substance that was administered by the club doctor could cop the same punishment as a steroid cheat. The fact his suspension is 4 times longer then any previous punishment IN THE WORLD is a joke.

Well, that was a dirty, dirty day. Harding continually used the word embarrassing at the 3/4 time huddle and rushed in to get all the players together before they split into their groups. He didn't mince words either and told them a few home truths. Told them they wouldn't put their head over the ball, wouldn't work hard and stuffed simple skills like chest marks when they were on their own. Poor old Tallen, came rushing into the huddle saying "we're getting bent over out there". He was talking to Hickmott.

There's a few that put their body on the line for the jumper today. Spaanderman played about the worst game I've seen him play, as did Colreavy. Hunter, I'm not sure what they get out of still playing him? We have got to do something about the middle, because we were hammered in there today.

I'll be positive for a second, I've hit the don't care button for the season, Jetta was great, as was Hansen. Notte, Hams and Ames were severely under the pump down back and kept contesting. At last I'm starting to see some anger from Notte, who at least hit contests trying to impact. Wolfenden tries his guts out and causes as many cries of anguish as he does raptures of delight, but he has heart. A few more could learn from that.

I don't mind the look of Faulkner and Outridge (although he was pantsed today). Bad luck to son son on his knee.

Well said swannies but i would add inept & insipid ...in what has been a poor year by Swans yesterday was the low point & judging by the total lack of effort yesterday there may be more low points to come during the rest of this season!

Spaanders has been forced out of the club...wtf is going on?!?! So Wes is now our number 1 ruck and we have no notable backup.

Is Harding delusional talking about how good of a player Hunter is for the side on the coverage today?

Looks like a clean out over summer then? Do we presume Williams won't be back, particularly if those comments about him attributed to Harding are true?

Daly still in the reserves or has he moved on as well? Saw that Blight was back in the ressies on Saturday as well. :thumbsu:

Great to see Potente back though, love the little terrier! :)

Just got to accept it is a frustrating year and we'll have to regroup, with or without Harding, not sure what'll happen there, as he seems to be upsetting a few people at the moment. Not that I necessarily mind that though. :)

On another note, I must keep apologising to Lammie, who's turnaround has been nothing short of stunning to me. :thumbsu:

On a brighter note for the Black Ducks, Brendan Parker has resigned.

Is that re-signed or resigned, as in quit? Haven't heard anything about it?

Actually there were some extenuating circumstances today. Down to 1 on the bench, able to come back on, at half time and no one on the bench for the last.

That aside, Peel played well and were left to do what they wanted, mostly, but Swans showed some spirit in the last, kicking 5-6 goals. Was a very disappointing game, but Cake Eater, I told you a few weeks ago you had to get in the pre 2005 mindset and just not care. My mates were staring at me astoundingly as I didn't rail on Hinkley and Roach as they stuffed up time after time. But, to be fair, I would have been out railed by the end of any given quarter.:(

We had 4 injured from late in the 3rd & then Jetta got injured with 10mins to go & with no one on the bench we played 1 short! Funnily enough we actually scored 2 goals playing with only 17 on the ground.

Cant Help but think that Under Dawson, even down to no one on the bench we wouldnt have been so insipid as we were.

Had a raging hangover when I went down to watch and ended up with a raging headache when I left.

We need a real Swans person to come down and coach preferably one who has talent at coaching rather then an insipid Ex Claremont player who is dragging us back into the "halcyon" days of Peter Wilson coaching reign.

73 points and counting- Please leave Harding and take your pathetic coaching with you....

I actually agree with what Harding is coaching, it's just that the present players aren't capable of following it.

Time after time I've been to the huddles and his first message is, so and so, we've got to put our heads over the ball, we've got to fight for the ball. I made the call 2 weeks ago that that midfield was our worst since 2005, we've since copped 2 90+ point hidings. I told the club at the beginning of the year that we needed more midfielders, instead of the guys they had recruited, so I guess so far it is swannies 1, Swans 0. :p
