Apparently Mat Carr is going to play reserves all season. Something about him being part of the coaching staff and not allowed to play league.

Well he will be the most expensive reserves player running around. $10 000 transfer fee for a reserves player? SD must have money to burn!Apparently Mat Carr is going to play reserves all season. Something about him being part of the coaching staff and not allowed to play league.
Chrsco I think the prediction by many of Perth to finish top four is largely based on the ability of Andrew Jarman to make a difference plus the addition of Armstrong, Moody and Ferguson.Just read the West's "our state game" which, tbh, is quite a good read and the biggest pre-season promo I've seen of the WAFL since Roo Boucher was running around doing the 1 armed push ups.
Anyhoo, my query is the actual amount of football knowledge the journos that have tipped the final ladder positions have. The journos are Townsend, Lewis, Beacham, Wilson, Hope and Reid.
5 of the 6 have tipped Perth to finish 3rd or 4th.Obviously a few demons members amongst the journo fraternity because no-one would put their hard earned on them. All of them tipped Subi and Souths to finish 1-2 (3 saying Souths on top and 3 Subi). Whilst a likely outcome, I consider that simply following the herd mentality, I mean we all know how capable souths are of under performing. Subi may have had enough after 3 premierships, who knows???
The 2 biggest improvers I see are Easts and Claremont and Easts were nominated by 3 to finish in the 4, Claremont by 2 and East Perth and West Perth (who you can never discount by only 1). So there are 2 teams that are not given a chance of finishing in the top 4, yep Swannies and Peel. Now I don't care if people don't think we can finish in the 4, but logic would tell me, as a punter, that we would have as much chance as Perth, very strange. But hey, more reasons for boys to be motivated to back up last years effort!!

I think every WAFL club with possibly the exception of EP have a realistic chance of making the four. Peel, EF and Claremont will probably be stronger than I had earlier thought. SD and Subi have suffered significant losses without gaining much but should still be there abouts, SF have recruited well and WP haven't lost anyone and picked up a couple of players.
It all augurs well for a very interesting season.
Chrsco I rate Pullman quite highly from what I saw of him in the prelim and GF. He reminds me of Scott Cummings but by the sounds of it he works a bit harder.
Lets just hope the Dockers snaffle young jetta next draft. He looks a keeper for sure.
And anyone (swannies) know of when Lange will be good to go and where Josh Roberts is?
None of the WAFL 'experts' in the West this morning picked the Swannies.
Here's hoping we prove them wrong![]()
Just read on the Eagles website that Notte is out for 5 weeks with a knee
shit! Huge loss.
No doubt Pullman will be back.
How's Johnson been?
